We were on our way from queenstown to Christchurch and we decided to break our journey. This was the perfect place. We booked into the villa type rooms. It was like an apartment. Even though the bedroom was small it had a 1st floor with living ,dining and a kitchenette with a beautiful view of Lake Tekapo. The chef was... More

I booked a room for 2 when it was under the 'smart offer', of course I didn't get the view, the window was facing the carpark which is quite sad when you're 100m away from the Lake Tekapo, in the middle of the southern alps in NZ but hey.. the room was really nice, clean, with lovely forniture, big shower,... Kia ora ness2550, Thanks so much for your kind comments. Our Standard Hotel Rooms unfortunately do not have a view whatsoever, and are a value for money offering as you have alluded to. We are so pleased to hear that you were able to enjoy the Rakinui Restaurant so much, and specifically the marbled chocolate cheesecake. We are about to... More

We enjoyed a one night stay from Queenstown to Christchurch. Perfect location for viewing and walking around the lake . We were very lucky and had a room at the very top and front ,which gave us easy access to the pathways that took us across the road to many restaurants and cafes and of course the the beautiful church... Kia ora Lisa R, Thanks for stopping by to leave such a great review of our property. I'm really glad to know that you enjoyed the petting zoo next door! It's a relatively new offering which is great for the kids. Balmoral Estate also sell merino wool garments, lamb/venison/rabbit meat all out of the same shop. It's a nice taste... More

Not the luxury as we thought we had paid for on our honeymoon. we did how ever have views of the mountains but not two of the wines glasses were the same (three glasses three different sizes) plates not as clean as they should be no free wifi had to go to reflections across the road. No outside table to... More

We stayed one night while driving from Christchurch to Queenstown. The report provided a clean comfortable room and good places to eat. Located a short walk from the middle to town and about a 10 minute walk to the Church of the Good Shepherd, the resort also provides easy access to Mt John. The restaurant provided excellent meals and the... More

Kia ora Peter B, We are so pleased to know that found your apartment to be both clean and comfortable. Moreso, I am thrilled that you had such a wonderful time in our Rakinui Restaurant; both our Executive Chef Arvind, and Restaurant Supervisor Ben are really passionate, and eager to give every guest a true taste of warm, genuine hospitality.... Not the luxury we thought we had paid for. Views into the laundry, aircon units and scaffolding.Small peep of the mountains, from our "mountain view" room. Unit looked tired, milk when I added it to my hot chocolate was off and curdled no t-spoons to stir our cuppa.Disappointing as we decided to make this our luxury night. Did have lovely... More

Position of hotel lovely, view of mountains and Lake Tekapo. Dinner at the restaurant was good, friendly staff. We had a "suite" - only accommodation available on late arrival. Plenty of space, needed a good clean, noisy fans from air conditioning units outside. Didn't feel clean, expensive for what the room offered. Wont stay here again.

We stayed just one night here and found it a good place to stop. The room we had selected was very spacious and nice and clean with its own verandah looking out over Lake Tekapo. It was quite cold when we were there so the heating was appreciated. There was a large tv in the lounge and kitchen seemed well equipped.... More

I stayed at Peppers in Tekapo on my own in my room. I was on a photography tour of the dark sky reserve and really just needed a place to lay my head at night so opted for the best deal I could find. What I got was more (and less) than I bargained for. Let me clarify. The quality... More

Kia ora Kart_Racer67, Thanks so much for your balance review of our property. We appreciate your honest comments about our much maligned Standard Hotel Room, but we are please to know that it did suit your particular needs. We absolutely agree that for a place to rest only, these rooms are very functional. If you are looking for more, it... More

The hotel is spread out over a large area across the main road from the lake . There is a lot of building work going on in the area, but you can look past this to some excellent views. The accommodation is in blocks of three stories, the rooms are well appointed and the facilities are good. We did however... More
