Staying at the Shearer's Lodge on the side of Lake Pukaki was a highlight of our biking trip - the scenery and setting there is stunning and the buildings perfectly set up to welcome and provide well spaced bedding for possible snorers. Julia left delicious food ready to heat and eat and when I left my wallet behind, ensured it... More

We were a party of ten on our first day of the Alps 2 ocean. After a hefty climb up the driveway , a sharp left hand turn we came upon the shearing she'd and were immediately surprised. However , through the trees we glimpsed another building and upon entering were impressed by accommodation. There was plenty of room. Just... More

It's a unique experience staying at Braemar. The setting is almost unbelievably beautiful in its isolation, serenity and sheer breathtaking views of Mt Cook and Lake Pukaki. Can water truly be that colour?! The one of us who got up at 4.30am said the stars were stunning. A group of us stayed in one of the cottages and it felt... More

We stayed in the Shearer's Quarters building with another family en route the Alps to Ocean cycle trail in Autumn. The setting is spectacular with views across and down Lake Pukaki. The kids had a ball roaming around the paddocks outside, enjoying the sheep and keas. Certainly the flashest 'shearers quarters' I've seen. It was very clean; the kitchen is... More

Loved this farm stay at the foot of Mount Cook (well twenty KM away). I had a very comfortable two bedroom place with a hearty fire and decent if basic kitchen. Waking up in the morning with a clear view of Mount Cook in the distance was the highlight. Food was provided in the evening and for a packed lunch... More

Our party of 5 stayed here on our A2O biking trip for one night only unfortunately. We had our first days biking done and dusted and arrived to find the shearers quarters spotlessly clean, a delicious dinner in the fridge and facilities excellent. Sitting outside with a view of Mt Cook right there in the late afternoon in clear weather... More

Stay at this High Country Sheep Station. You wont be disappointed, location location location. We had a delicious dinner and desert from Julia provided for our biking group of 8 in the Shearers quarters, fire going, and a perfect end to a grand days biking A2O. Thanks to the owners for your lovely company, we will be back with family... More

We had no idea what staying on a high country farm would be like - we were very pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the shearers quarters which was brilliant for our group. The facilities were spotlessly clean and charming. The setting was peaceful and views breathtaking. Julia showed us great hospitality and provided us with a fabulous evening meal and... More

My wife and I, along with two other couples, had the extraordinary experience of staying overnight at Braemar Station while cycling the A2O. The drop dead gorgeous setting, with views over Lake Pukaki up the Tasman Valley to Mt Cook is unsurpassed. The warm and comfortable Lodge ~ a refurbished shearers quarters ~ is tastefully done while still referencing it's... More

Great views of mount cook, cattle throughout property. We stayed as a group in the large home which was great fun for us, cooking facilities, lounge etc. quiet, no tv or wifi, but fabulous views and quiet times.
