Lake Tekapo is a great place, not to be missed on a tour of NZ and we really enjoyed our stay at Moonlight. We stayed in the Luna room which is more spacious than it looks from the photo on the website and had our own private lounge area too. Breakfast was really nice and we enjoyed relaxing in the... more

High-spec rooms with ample space and elegant minimalist decoration await you here. Not the cheapest option, but worth it for the quality and comfort of the accommodation. Plus you will rarely meet such natural hosts. Marcus & Annaliese (England) more

Extremely friendly welcome from first Rene, then Marianne, to their lovely home in the residential streets behind Lake Tekapo. We had the Luna room on the ground floor of their house, with separate living room, toilet and shower – all very private, well equipped and comfortable. A delicious breakfast and relaxed conversation in Rene and Marianne’s own dining room with... more

My husband and I stayed here for one night during a tour of New Zealand. Rene and Marianne made us feel very welcome indeed. They provided advice on what to see and do and on where to eat in the tiny town. the accommodation was beautiful, our room had lots of space, including our own living area and bathroom. Breakfast... more

We stayed here for one night on the way to Mt. Cook. The B&B was perfect - a large spacious room, clean bathroom, a mini-refrigerator. There aren't many food options in Lake Tekapo, but the hosts were hospital. The room is downstairs from the main house, so you have complete privacy. We weren't able to see the stars that night... more

My wife and I are not normally B&B travellers but we rented the room with separate entrance and facilities. This afforded us the privacy of a hotel, but with a wonderful breakfast made by the host Marianne. The bed was very comfortable and it i convenient to town and the attractions of Tekapo. Would recommend the separate room even to... more

Stayed for two very enjoyable nights in the Sol room which is very roomy and comfortable. Who needs a TV when you can take a night visit to the top of Mount John and visit the Observatory. We were very lucky with a perfectly clear night sky and to see the Milky Way in such detail was a great experiance.... more

We ended up spending more time in our room than expected due to a freak snowstorm in early April. Our room was warm, clean, and very calming. It's a detached guest house in a residential area. Our Dutch hosts were fantastic and went to great lengths to put out a great breakfast spread for us (cheese, yogurt, cereal, fruit). They... more

Thanks for your good review. I remember that April freak snow storm really well, as it was a very early cold snap. Autumn had some more surprises in mid May when we had so much rain that the lake overflowed...... Regards, Marianne
