Stunning view on balcony, elegant bedroom, gracious host, large breakfast buffet.

Lake Tekapo is a magical place, so naturally beautiful and with only a population of 340. There are uninterrupted views of the opal blue lake and mountains from both the breakfast/sitting room and outdoor balcony. We sat sipping wine watching the sun go down soaking up this little piece of paradise. There are only two bedrooms and the room we... More

The first thing that will strike you about this B&B will be the spectacular view of Lake Tekapo from the terrace! Once you recover from that, the rooms are nice and big, the breakfast is good and the hostess is very welcoming and friendly. They will immediately welcome you with a map and their recommendation of what to do with... More

We found and booked Glacier Rock B&B almost last minute but the booking process was smooth and the room was secured for us. Chris and Colin are very nice and helpful. We stayed in the lake-view room which costed a bit more than the other room and we think it's worth spending extra. We could enjoy stunning view of the... More

Very good, big rooms withch adjacent living/eating room and terrace. Breathtaking mountain view from living room. All slightly separated from hosts part, what gives much privacy. Excellent breakfast with home-made products (even bread). The first time in our 1 month journey we received sliced ham for breakfast!! Hosts are extremely kind, friendly and helpful. We regret that we stayed there... More

Stunning views from the breakfast room and shared balcony. We had the garden room which was very comfortable and clean with fresh milk for tea each day. Pleasant walk to town with some good restaurants. The house is lovely in itself and full of lots of art. Very friendly and helpful wonders. A very enjoyable stay.

Lovely setting with great views over Lake Tekapo. Chris was very welcoming and made us very comfortable. Easy walking distance into town and various restaurants, but some of these may require prior booking to avoid dissapointment. Easy to 'star gaze' at night as very little street light glare. We sat out on our balcony and watched the night sky.

We recently stayed for one night. Price confirmed on booking (made direct through guesthouse website) was $210. Website rates stated range of $200-250 for “Lake View” room and $170-195 for “Garden View” room. On checking in, we were disappointed to be shown to the “garden view” room – a slight misnomer, as the main “view” was of a washing line... More

Chris apologised for the mistake made on our website. The booking form clearly indentifies the room guests are staying in and our website clearly states that the Whero room has a garden view. The window is not a slit window but 1.6 m square. Guest in the Whero room have direct use of the Breakfast Room which has a spectacular... More

We had booked a flight over Mount Cook in January so stayed at Glacier Rock Gallery for one night. The room and ensuite was a good size, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good with homemade bread, jams and fresh fruit from the garden. The view from the dining room was spectacular and there was also a... More
