Location and views are fantastic. Price is no different to some other spots in town which are much newer and fresher though. Motel unit is simply old and sucked out, like stuck in the standards of the 80ties. Smoke detector was covered in a plastic bag (that is most probably illegal and dangerous), everything was somewhat clean (where you could... More

We stayed in the motel units at the top of the park the view if the lake was amazing The village is a five minute drive away where there is a good selection of shops and cafes we ate at Pepes which had good pizzas Our only criticism was the cleaner showed up at 2pm just as we arrived back... More

We stayed here two years ago and even extended to 3 nights because we loved it so much! So we were really looking foward to coming back and spending two nights in one of the en-suite cabins which we "treated" ourselves to. Check-in was quick and characterless, we then settled into the cabin. We immediately noticed that the place was... More

Loved the location, very close to the hot pools, very clean. Only gripe was that after hiring a cabin for $120 a night, there was no tea/coffee/milk in the room.

Booked this site in October for our 3rd January arrival and received email confirmation. Flew from Singapore to Sydney, then to Christchurch, picked up campervan and drove toward Lake Tekapo. As we reached Fairlie (abour 1/2 hour away and very tired) thought better phone them that we were pushing 8.30 check in. At first, no record of our booking, then... More

The most annoying thing that I foud about this place was paying $2 for a limited time shower. Once the time was up, water was off, including the cold water tap. The ammenity closest to my camp site was unisex, not ideal for me! On the good side, the staffs were very helpful and friendly. The location is good, better... More

We organised this instead of going camping for the weekend. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the cabin and loved it's retro feel - until 2am in the morning when we froze in the middle of summer. Still turned the heater on and all was right again. The cabins are old but that added a lot of character... More

The facilities were extremely dated (like stepping back into the sixties, not in a good way) however, they were clean and had a wonderful view of the lake. It would have been acceptable had it been fairly priced however, it was extremely overpriced and we were charged an extra $10 over the quoted price. It seems they have a monopoly... More

Tekapo was the last stop on our month tour of NZ. As a matter of course we drove around as much as we could before approaching reception, though the camp itself was gated. As before we had prebooked our site, and as before we asked about proximity to cheap unpowered camping vehicles. Again we were told we wouldn't be near... More

Stayed in a ensuite self-contained sudio with toilet and shower and double bed and two bunks. Has small fridge and sink but no pots/pans to use in communal kitchen. Located on a rise very close to the lake. The most perfect spot. Great balcony out front and room for a small tent as well. Will return for a longer stay... More
