Stayed at the Hampton Inn one night pre-boarding Royal Caribbean. Quick $10 cab ride (+ $1/bag) to hotel. Then $19 cab ride to Pan American pier. We stayed here after our cruise and wish we would have stayed here the night before our cruise. Our travel agent suggested a pre-cruise hotel in old San Juan thinking our ship left off the old docks. This hotel was convenient to the new cruise dock and airport. It had a great breakfast, wonderful pool and nice staff. more

I've stayed at the Hampton several times over the years on business, as well as some of the fancy hotels nearby on Isla Verde.
