Spent 3 nights here the last week in February for my birthday and in order to get some climbing and hillwalking done in the Cairngorms. First of all the site is wonderful. Although really close to amenities of lovely Nethybridge ( 2 minute drive) it feels very remote and peaceful. We opted to stay in The Duck's Nest, the new... More

Two days of complete bliss in the Woodman Hut, definitely will return for more of the same. Stargazing from a gloriously comfy bed, drinking a glass of wine in the wood fired hot tub and breakfasting watching a cheeky red squirrel. Hosts are welcoming, supportive and unobtrusive.

Absolutely nothing negative to say here. Its a great campsite, small, and certainly not what you might expect if you are used to luxury camping, but if you do any research about the place you will know exactly what to expect, and it delivers. A comfy shelter is provided to cook in, and a chiminea is available for the (inevitably)... More

We camped earlier in the summer and had an amazing short break. The lazy duck campsite is an amazing find and we will return again. Obviously the weather being great helped too. From the moment we arrived David, Vallery and their helper couldn't have been more accomodating. It was the first time we have been camping with our two young... More

It is a week or so since you stayed with us yet because of your circumstances we remember you only too well. You were brilliant with your children and model parents for anyone thinking of introducing their young to camping and the joys of the outdoors. Others pitched alongside you commented too and we so much hope to see you... More

Stayed here for 2 nights over this bank holiday weekend. Quite hard to find as it doesn't have a post code. But once you're there it's beautiful, so quiet. However it is very basic, entirely Eco, no luxuries here! Outdoor shower and all, small toilet inside as well as dish washing facilities. Lovely little area, with chickens etc. the owners... More

Thanks so much for your encouraging review. In fact we do have a post code, PH25 3ED which in the change over from an old to a new website we have forgotten to include. Thanks then for the reminder. A note of warning though: - our geographical area for this post code is so large that if you are using... More

Found Lazy Duck by accident when looking for camping in the Aviemore area. So glad we did. Great hospitality, stunning and peaceful surroundings. Wildlife galore including Crested Tit on the peanut feeders and also Red Squirrel. We also saw Roe Deer in the evening as we walked into Nethy Bridge for dinner. Expect a 'real' experience here. The owners undercharged... More

Thanks so much for your generous review. We can't quite work out from what you have said if we undercharged or overcharged you. I hope we got it right, if not then our apologies. For clarity the charges are as on our website :- £10.00 for one person in a 1, 2 or 3 man tent and and additional £5.00... More

We stayed at lazy duck for 2 reasons : 1. Rothimurchus campsite was full 2. I though I'd seen it in cool camping I've never been happier a campsite was full! I'm almost tempted not to write this review and to instead try and keep it as our wee secret but that's just not fair! David and vallery have somehow... More

Spent 2 nights at lazy duck camping. It was a wonderful experience. Felt like we had privacy and the place is so relaxing. The owners have good local knowledge and are very friendly. Recommend going in the hot tub, it's £5 per person but worth the money. Had a lovely time and will be back soon!

Spent a night at the lazy duck campsite, which is on the glamping side of camping- everything is available if you ask and staff and owners are on hand all the time. The facilities are great- even the bush shower. You can tell that the owners love the site and they're always looking for ways to improve- I'm not sure... More

This was our 4th trip to the Lazy Duck, previously we have camped twice and once we stayed in the hostel. There is no doubt the surroundings are very lovely and to be honest on previous stays we did have any real complaints... the owners although lovely are a little overbearing and sometimes slightly intrusive but maybe that was just... Oh dear, what a shame that your 4th visit to us was spoiled by a worry over the electric fence. This was a necessary precaution to safeguard campers from the intrusive noses of our new born Soay lambs which are far too inquisitive for their own good. Your concern is quite understandable; we apologise and yes, last year one other... More
