I stayed here just one night which was paid for by my employer but would visit again at my own expense happily. I stay away a lot through work and this is the best B&B I've stayed in and puts many more expensive hotels to shame. Breakfast was amazing, served by the attentive owners.

When visiting Scotland you need to find calm and peace. This just what you get here. A nice english couple looks after alle your needs, in the nicest surroundings you can imagine. Home made food and spacious rooms makes the stay memorable. Good place if your all in for golf and hiking og fishing.

Met at door by an owner that wasn't shaved . Looked disheveled. The en suite which was cheaply built in to the room was a joke . All the windows were painted shut . I presume because they were needing renewed. The view was average . The mini bar on the top floor was just odd . A complete waste... More

The reviewer has failed to mention that he was asked to leave because he was smoking in our Super King Room. Although the room and landing subsequently stank of cigarette smoke he denied smoking in the room having thought it would not be noticeable if he opened the window and lent out to smoke. However it was undeniable when I pointed... We stayed here on 29th December for our 3rd wedding anniversary. The proprietors (Ed and Nel) could not have been more lovely. We were utterly spoiled! The house itself was cosy, peaceful and well presented. It's in a beautiful spot. Ed even gave us a lift up to Evanton to the local pub in the evening. We enjoyed the food... More

This is a true gem. It is a little bit hidden, but worth while, just follow your TomTom's directions. Ed and Nel are excellent hosts. The rooms have everything you need. Big towels, great bed etc. The breakfast is also great. A nice living room to relax. The next best thing to being at home.

Annual pilgrimage to Alness for Salmon fishing. Thought we would try here on a recommendation. Wasn't disappointed, hotel was spotless in a beautiful setting by the water. Nel and Ed were first class hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was well cooked and on time and the room was beautifully appointed (room 2). Would happily stay here again next... More

I stayed here on the 8th September and would unreservedly recommend it - the location outside Evanton is beautiful and peaceful - overlooking the Cromaty Firth. The house is a former Manse and tastefully decorated and clearly Ed and Nel work very hard at ensuring it is presented immaculately. The single room I stayed in was excellent - with great... More

Great place, people and location. Rooms are nice and comfortable, every morning you are greeted with a different salutation from Nel. Both warm and friendly owners who see to your every need, including some great advice on what is in the area.

We have stayed with Nel & Ed four times now and have enjoyed every visit tremendously. They are brilliant hosts, friendly, warm and take such pride in how they look after you. We didn't manage to get there last year and regretted not travelling that far up on our biking trip. This year we really looked forward to the return... More

Many thanks to hosts Ed & Nel for creating such a delightful oasis. I stayed for only one night, but definitely would stay longer the next chance I have. The house was lovely, full of charm and character, and even my modest room (I was in the "Double" overlooking the farmland toward the old church) felt spacious and luxurious because... More
