We stayed at the National Hotel in Dingwall for 1 night in August 2015. The hotel is situated in the centre of the town with a free car park at the rear. Lots of charm, tartan and wood panelling in the main rooms which give it a real Scottish feel. The staff (not local) but very pleasant and helpful. We... More

The National lies in a very convenient location, centrally placed in Dingwall, and right near the railway station. It is a rather faded grand old lady. My room was generous in size, but basic in furnishing. It was clean and warm, and the bathroom was fine. There is free wifi in the public areas, but this does not extend to... More

Stayed two nights in this charming Scottish Highland Hotel, very convenient location near Railway Station, Local Buses and Shopping Street. A short walk to Ross County Football Stadium. Very warm helpful staff, good sized room with a firm mattress that helped me have a great sleep both nights of my stay.

A very attractive looking mid-1800s hotel within a town centre of architecture of a similar era. A nice entrance with a couple of sofas and a pleasant welcome from the standard european staff member. Rooms are situated along a series of corridors at different levels, some with unfinished doors and frames. The room is best described as basic, with seventies... More

I say "surprising" because the hotel is rather old and tired and the restaurant is a bit barn like. So surroundings not brilliant but the food and service were. There was just one girl doing both the drinks behind the bar and taking orders and serving the food in the restaurant. She did a sterling job and was good humoured... More

When having to make an unexpected journey by car to Dingwall to collect a family member due to public transport being disrupted by bad weather, I called into the hotel late evening for a breather before continuing my journey home. We were made most welcome and was delighted to be served with a mincemeat pie with my cup of tea... More

Stayed one night on business trip. The room was very nice and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and can't do enough for you. Ate in the restaurant and very happy with the meal and again great service. All in all a very enjoyable stay and I would certainly stay again and recommend to others. I felt like one of... More

This hotel is situated in a small village about 1/2 hour from Inverness Airport. The rooms are a little outdated however the staff were very welcoming making sure your every need is met. The food was amazing and very sizable portions, safe to say you will not go hungry! There are 3 bars within the hotel itself, one for the... More

Have only ever had a meal in the National hotel so my review is based on the food and service! I have visited several times and have not had a bad meal yet , the staff are courteous and efficient and the food is good from a varied menu also reasonably priced. Dingwall has very few traditional Scottish eateries and... More

Our tour group of about 24 cruised (bus) into Dingwall about 7pm on June 14th. We were tired and our rooms were ready of course. Dingwall and the National Hotel were delightful. The hotel is situated on the site where old stable buildings have been since the 10th century. Dingwall is an old Viking burgh. A lot of history here,... More
