We have recently returned home to Canada from a 2 week family reunion vacation in Scotland. While we travelled to many places and stayed in all sorts of accommodation ( 5 star hotels, B & B's, older hotels etc) Knockbain House was absolutely the best. A wonderful, tranquil and most picturesque location awaits any traveller so fortunate to have the experience... More

Wonderful large room and comfy bed with a comfortable sette to relax after our journey. Lots of books if we wished to read. I am so thankful that my traveling companion had the great foresight to look into Knockbain House for our accommodations in the Highlands. David and Denise were so helpful and the grounds were absolutely stunning! The weather was beautiful - 70's and 80's with sun, sun, sun, which we feel very fortunate to have experienced. The grounds and the rooms... More

Spent 4 nights here and could not have been happier. Hosts are most welcoming and had great suggestions for us. We used Dingwall as a jumping off point and traveled west and east as well as a little north. The weather was great, everything in bloom, warm even for us Texans. Our trip to Skye was worth every minute driving... More

Friendly hosts, lovely sitting room to relax in, comfortable bedrooms. Everything was splendid. The highlight was the food - terrific breakfast, and you can also book dinner which is really excellent - better than most restaurants, and good value.

We landed at Knockbain Farm airfield at very short notice, whilst flying through Scotland. David came out to meet us and when he realised that we had no accommodation booked, offered to accommodate us in his B&B. We gratefully took "pot luck" and how fortunate it turned out to be. The accommodation is delightful and we were really made to... More

The accommodation really is perfect and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Denise served a first class breakfast with fresh fruit and lovely creamy scrambled eggs! Although we visited as a couple we do have young children... More

Located on the edge of Dingwall, high up on a hill overlooking the Cromarty Firth, the town itself and the surrounding hilly farmland, Knockbain House is in an enviable position with beautiful views. The hosts are very welcoming, ready with a pot of tea or a gin and tonic when you come in at the end of the day. The... More
