We picked the Inchview because of its location halfway between St. Andrews and Edinburgh. Owners Tony and Ellen were gracious and wonderfully accomodating. The breakfasts and dinners were outstanding. We arrived late in the evening from London and although they were closed for dinner made a special effort (thanks Sara!) to feed us and get us settled. The Hotel is... more

I have recently returned from a wonderful weekend at the Inchview hotel. We were lucky enough to have the four poster bed room which was incredibly comfortabe and quiet. The views across the water to Edinburgh at night were clear and sparkling. Everything about the hotel was extremely clean and tidy. The proprieters were very welcoming and helpful. Staff were... more

Just back from a 2 night weekend stay at the Inchview - we have some family in the area and visit every couple of years and prefer some flexibility so stay in a hotel rather than with the relatives. We have stayed in the Inchview several times over the years and this was our third stay since the current owners... more

We arrived from New Zealand the day before and couldn't find our way to anywhere to stay in Dumfermline. I was on a mission to find where my father had been born and lived in Fife before immigrating to NZ. We ended up in Burntisland. Driving down the street, we stopped and went in. Booked for 2 nights. Really great,... more

An absolute joke, the owner Ellen needs to go on a hospitality course, the woman is not cut out for this industry, very unfriendly, rude and unwelcoming. I also did not appreciate my credit card being charged fully before I checked out when I specifically stated that I would be using another card to pay the balance. Absolutely do not... more

Management response from
InchviewHotel, Owner

The guest was participating in a wedding party. The Bride & Groom asked all guests to pay an average room rate so that e.g. guests with children were not penalised. The owners were equally surprised at an adult having an altercation with another guest, throwing a tantrum and losing his phone - which we located and returned with quiet dignity.
