We had a really lovely stay here. It was relaxing, well located, quiet, spacious, clean and tidy. The staff was helpful and friendly, nothing was too much, including adding an extra member to our party. The afternoon tea was delicious and served warm fresh scones. The bar served huge well priced portions of fresh food. The restaurant had an Al... More

Good luck on finding a member of staff to help! Although the hotel rooms and public areas are of a good standard the 'spa' is in need of some serious upgrading. When we did find staff most were friendly and willing to help. 20 minutes to receive your coffee at breakfast and that's before you were 'allowed' to place your... More

Stayed here with a friend for 2 days while visiting nearby Aberdeen. Member of staff told us the hotel has been recently decorated in keeping with the age of the hotel. Very friendly staff, helpful with information about local area. Had a double bedroom and it was spotless throughout. Really comfortable bed and plenty space for clothes etc. Lovely bathroom... More

I agree with most comments on here that the building and grounds are remarkable. What seriously, I mean seriously let's this place down is the poor staffing levels, even on a busy wedding night...not enough staff to run both bars, next night was very quiet and still not enough staff, waited for over 15 minutes at either bar before going... I stayed at this hotel last weekend. There was a wedding on and at first everything seemed okay. As the night progressed it became obvious it was going to be very noisy. I got woke up various times throughout the night. I complained to the hotel manager the following day and he apologised and took on my comments. Another reason... More

We stayed here recently for a wedding. It was such a warm day so was really nice to be able to sit outside until it was time for the meal. The hotel looks really nice from the outside and looks fine on the inside, however, it was very warm in the hotel. This is not the hotels fault but air... More

My friend for married at this hotel in July 2014. The wedding was brilliant. The weather was perfect and the location was lovely as we were able to sit outside in the lovely gardens. However, the hotel itself was not the best. The service at the bar was terrible. The food was good though. I stayed at the hotel for... More

We recently spent our honeymoon (4 nights) on a dinner (6 course taster), bed & breakfast basis aiming also to visit family locally who had been unable to travel to us. We hosted a family dinner for 12 in the Lairds room with the 6 course taster menu during our stay. Our time there was fantastic. We came home very... More

My husband and I had our wedding at Thainstone House Hotel in July and would highly recommend it to anyone as a venue for their wedding. Angela the wedding coordinator was so helpful, even changing names on the table plan at the last minute and everything was organised brilliantly. Alex the master of ceremonies had his work cut out for... More
