our dining experience was awful, when we arrived we were seated in the lounge as the restaurant was not opened until 7.00pm we ordered from the a la carte menu , when we entered into the dining room it smelt of burned grease, ordered the steak & the chicken, the chicken was dry and my husband ordered a portion of... I have never had a spa day before so wasn't sure what to expect. I would have given this 4 stars, but there were a couple of things that I think made this an average experience when it could have been better. We arrived at 12:30 for our afternoon tea. The problems with the experience are essentially to do with... More

We stayed two nights to celebrate a wedding anniversary, on the Crerar Hotels' special DBB rate, which included a cream tea on arrival, two full breakfasts and two dinners from the six course tasting menu. I paid the modest extra for an executive room. Thainstone House is based around an impressive country house in its own parkland, up a longish... More

Loved the hotel. Staff were excellent, but unfortunately restaurant let us down. Food was very slow in arriving on the Saturday we were there. This may have been due to a wedding on that day. During rest of our stay restaurant was good. Spa was excellent.

I booked a table for four 10 days ahead of time to make sure we took advantage of the Thursday night 'Steak Night,' and asked specifically if it was still being offered. Although the receptionist didn't seem to know anything about it even though it was advertised on the hotel website, she assured me that if it was still on-line... More

Only problem, someone set the fire alarm off, yet, first hotel wehere this has happened where a member of staff was actually checking... More

Good hotel with comfy rooms and taster menu was delicious. Have stayed at a few hotels by this group and all have been great value and well presented. Staff were very friendly and polite with helpful answers to questions.

I was very disappointed with the spa day overall. Lack of communication between the staff and ourselves meant that things didn't run smoothly. £50 for a really shoddy file and polish, which is not a mini manicure as stated, literally 3 minutes in the pool then the option of a soup and sandwich is very steep. Eating soup at a... More

We booked a room via booking.com to coincide with a trip to the Taste of Grampian Event. Planning on taking full advantage of brewfest at the event we decided to park in the hotel car park and then walk from there. We parked and then went into the hotel to book a table for dinner. We arrived at reception to... More
