Receptionist sullen when we checked in Bedroom was in very poor state of repair, peeling paper, stained carpet, chipped paintwork. Bathroom was not clean - bits on the back of the loo, hair in basin and bath plugholes Request for it to be cleaned was not at all well received - default position was 'No we can't' Food mediocre Then... From booking to our warm welcome, Liz took care of us so well. Felt like we had known her for years. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean with crisp, white linen and soft towels. The spa was very good with a very well equipped gym. Dinner was a fantastic experience where Megan looked after us very well. The food... More

From the very beginning, it wasn't a good experience. I received a voucher for Afternoon Tea so called to make a reservation. I called twice to try and make reservations and was told there was a wedding on so I couldn't have it then. On the third occasion, I asked for a Manager as I dont know why a Hotel... More

We were lucky to be there the week beginning 25th March when Aberdeen was the hottest place in Scotland. The House has seen better days but it is still a very attractive place. It has an exceptionally beautiful dining room, the food was very good and a very pleasant staff. We asked for ground floor rooms because of mobility problems... More

Hotel is very run down, in dire need of revamp and a good clean!! Stayed as we were attending a wedding but what a disappointment, had read reviews on here and thought it couldn't be that bad but oh boy it was! Front steps had red carpet out but it hadn't been hoovered, and from there in there was a... More

As the previous reviewer, we also had room 102 with a foldaway bed! Not quite what I would have expected and my partner even was keen to sleep on the sofa instead as he doubted the cleanliness of it. Room was very large but still very outdated, bathroom pretty horid, we were only staying one night so we put up... More

As we were staying at this hotel because we were attending a wedding our expectations were high but we were very disappointed. Had a 15 minute wait to check in as there was only one person on the reception, when we got to our room (102) we were saddened by the fact that the bed in the room was a... More

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend at this hotel. The room was superb, lovely large bed and the bathroom was bright, shiny and scrupulously clean. (room 206). It didn't have much of a view but that didn't bother us. We stayed on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal and the food was delicious. The hotel was very... More

We went for afternoon tea. A belated mother's day treat. We booked well in advance, anticipating a lovely Sunday afternoon tea in the dining room. When we arrived there was a Wedding exhibition on and we were unable to have tea in the usual dining room area. The receptionist said she had tried to phone us to suggest we re-arrange... More
