Stopped here for a beer one afternoon while on a recent trip to Bridgnorth. We only found it as we opted to walk up the very steep hill to the high town. The pub was almost deserted with only a couple of people in. There was a couple of real ales on but the prices were high. We went out... More

Sympathetic restoration, nice enough atmosphere and clean; daft prices though, soon as the summer is gone and the tourist / day tripper trade dries up there'll be next to nobody in there at those prices

I've been to this pub numerous times over the last 5 yrs. We visited last weekend and it's still my favourite pub. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing, the little beer garden area in the back is lovely to sit out in on a warm summer evening. The staff are all really friendly and polite, and the pub itself... Recently refurbished and new landlord and landlady at the helm. Lovely pub with some of the best conditioned beer in Bridgnorth. Great to see it has retained being a drinking pub and not gone down the foody route but that said they have a great selection of cobs, scotch eggs and proper bar snacks to accompany an excellent pint. Good... More

This is what used to be called a drinkers pub.... But with a difference. Like the old times there are cobs and pickles on the bar but also cheese board and other nibbles.........Staff are so friendly and choice of beers is excellent. The beer garden has a brilliant view over the Severn valley and on a sunny day is a... More

We aren't locals but we aren't from too far afield either so we've been. We've been enjoying becoming more acquainted with Bridgnorth over the past couple of months and today we are thrilled to have discovered an absolute gem of a place. My husband and I were welcomed with pretty much open arms by the landlord, locals and a lady... More

My husband arranged for us to stay in Bridgnorth for my birthday. On arrival we decided to go and explore the local area. The Black Boy Inn is located between low and high town. We stopped off for a drink and a cob from the bar, which had the best ham I'd ever tasted!! We spoke to one of the... More

My family and I stayed at this inn in September and found the landlord really unfriendly. He seemed most annoyed that we had brought our two year old grandson with us and did all he could to make us feel unwelcommed.

Stayed here for one night Last year whilst the music Festival was on. After a lovely meal in their sister pub the Castle, the landlord kindly saved a room at Black Boy for us on request. The room was clean and spacious. The atmosphere in the pub was great. Really good Band playing called 'The Ronaldos'. Great choice of Ales... More

Having read previous reviews we stayed for two nights and I wish I had checked the detail. This pub only has two rooms and the bathroom is shared. Our room was clean and tidy although it was not cleaned on our second day. There was a double and single bed in our room so could accomodate three people. The Landlord... More
