This former monastery is off the beaten track, well worth the drive to get here. The building has been beautifully restored with modern boutique hotel rooms, much more contemporary than other paradores I have been to. The setting too is spectacular and there is a lovely, though small, spa. Nice restaurant and a very good breakfast. One I'd like to... More

If you are seeking a Parador with a breath-taking view, this is the spot. Located on the top of the mountains surrounding Ourense, the solitude and quiet will invigorate you. We stayed here three nights, with friends, while on a two-week visit to Spain.. It is a great location if to plan to visit Santiago de Compostela, which is a... More

This is a gorgeous spot (near the gorge...), a beautiful (and VERY out of the way) setting, beautiful buildings, beautifully restored and updated. Restaurant was excellent, as was the service. It is a bit hard to get to, as it is a top a mountain, but definitely worth it. A highlight!

This was our first visit to this Parador and we were very impressed with the free parking – there is a drop off area to unload outside the hotel then free underground parking. We were greeted by Victor on reception who was very thorough and helpful. The hotel is beautiful with a lovely quadrangle with a tree with fairy lights... More

The location is breathtaking. The monastery is superb. The service is (almost) perfect. This parador is impressive in many ways: location, quality of the extensive renovation. Our room was large and very clean. The "asthmatic" AC was not an issue that day since the weather was really cold. We had a great gourmet dinner in the beautiful restaurant. The lack... More

After an interesting detour and some narrow roads finally found our way to this lovely parador. It is modernised and very comfortable. The hotel was full so restaurant was busy and after a slow start we had and exellent meal with delicious steak and fine local Ribera del Sacre wine. There is a woodland area at back accessed through breakfast... More

Fantastic place to stay and the views are amazing. No wifi is a great plus, stops you looking down and look up instead at the views and enjoy the peacefulness! There is a wonderful spa, best I've been too so far, and I've been to a few... Food and service was brilliant. Rooms and bathroom were great, nice space and... More

The photos do not do this justice! A refurbished monastery complete with cloisters, a woodland walk in the most stunning of location, a fabulous restaurant in an incredible room. Some of the roads to this hotel are "interesting" to say the least and there are some steep drops to contend with, but once you get there it is worthwhile. Bar... More

This is a bit of a trek to get to, but that's the way of monasteries I suppose. The building is fantastical; cloisters, halls, little reading rooms, the lot. And as a school trip to a monastery it would be a good day out. The restaurant was very nice with excellent service from a charming lady, and good food. The... More

We stayed here as part of a special Amigos de Parador deal. It was such a great price we couldn't resist as usually this is one of the more expensive paradors. As other reviews have mentioned, the former monastery has been beautifully restored with 3 cloisters all totally different in atmosphere. Right outside is some beautiful scenery with lovely walks...
