The hotel is on top of a cliff/hill so the rooms face the beach Los Locos. Having breakfast in the room is undeniably a must because of the amazing views. Great breakfast; bacon, chips, eggs, coffe, juice and the typical sobaos from Cantabria. Rooms beautifully decorated and looked after. Clean bathroom. Worth every penny. Not much near the hotel but... More

On top of a hill overlooking fantastic beaches on 2 sides, near an old light-house, viewing Picos de Europa in the distance. Both beaches and town center within 10 min. walk - either on paved roads/paths or steep challenging paths. Quick and simple service in the bar/cafeteria, but restaurant with a choice within 10 min. walk. The ladies in the... More

As usual, we had a great stay here (came back for a second night later in the week). Fantastic view from the room (all have views of the sea, but best to get a first floor room which has a sitting area facing the beach). Yolanda et al always give great service, and overall it's excellent value for money, with... More

My husband and I stayed 5 nights in the apartments owned by the Hotel El Castillo. We were warmly welcomed and quickly settled in to a spacious seaview apartment by Yolanda, on reception who had great English. We got a 2 bedroom apartment as it was all that was available and got a brilliant price as it was off season.... More

We had only booked to stay in Suances for one evening but regretted that as soon as we were shown to our room. The room was absolutely fantastic with the most amazing view of the beach right below our window. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, including recommending restaurants, despite offering food themselves,... More

When you first arrive you will think it's outdated and rather kitsh but the staff at reception desk are extremely professional and helpful from the very beginning, telling you recommended restaurants, free room service all day long and anything you need at all. It's true the spiral staircase doesn't help with your luggage but it's just one or two floors... More

This is an excellent hotel, very well located, reasonably priced (100 EUR a night in July/august, breakfast included) with very good views ( room #7) and friendly staff. Bear in mind that this is a one- star hotel so expect no Four Seasons type of experience. There is no elevator, for example so if you need one this is not... More

The website through which we booked the room described it as "double room sea views". The photos I've attached show that it was a twin with partial seaviews! The room was to the front of the hotel, on the road, and over the rooftops you could see the main beach of Suances. Rooms to the back of the hotel have... More

My (spanish) travel agent swore this was the best place to stay on the Cantabrian coast and she was spot on! We arrived late in a summer gale (cold and windy) and yet the darling Alba was in the reception and was so sweet and kind and accommodating, made a few great suggestions for dinner... We were in Room 13,... More

Just check out their website and see the views of the cliff and oceans from the hotel. It is simply amazing. Being a former surfer, it was neat to see all the surfers in the ocean. It's November and chilly, but the surfers are out in the water in wetsuits. The hotel is empty in November, so it is hard... More
