I have not stayed at the Nievesol for years but went to sample the Formigal 50th Anniversary cocktails, which was delicious. The service is terrific, with a choice of some 45 gins, 20 plus each of brandies, vodkas and whiskies. Our questions about the different cocktails were met with enthusiastic replies. Worth a visit. The bar is spacious and comfortable.

This is an affordable hotel that was pleasant if a bit old fashioned. It is in a good location where you can walk to the supermarket and all the ski shops. The ground floor has a very large (but basic) play area for kids which seemed fine to me. I like the: - room. It was clean, very large and... More

18 of us stayed at the Nievesol from March 12-18 for a skiing holiday in Formigal. The hotel is in the centre of the town so very accessible to the bars and restaurants. The bus to the slopes stops right outside the hotel, leaves every 5 minutes and only takes a few minutes to reach the chairlift. The hotel provides... More

Hotel and rooms were clean and tidy, although the rooms are in need of some TLC. Staff were friendly. We were half board and the breakfasts were generally good although limited. Dinners were selected from a menu and were at times poor and at others average, it really needed to be buffet style with a little more selection. Location within... More

Having seen a couple of mediocre reviews i was rather nervous of staying at neievsol, but i was happy to find it of a much better standard than i was expecting. The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were very clean and while the food won't win any michellin stars it's more than adequate and there was lots of... More

The hotel has a great location as the ski bus pick-up point is about 50 yards across the square, with buses on a rolling basis for the 5-minute ride down to the main ski lift at Sextas. This is its strongest selling point as the village is built on a steep hill giving you quite a climb to other Hotels.... More

The hotel is very basic, small rooms, but very clean. However, the food is horrible! We had paid for half-board and so either had to eat there or lose our money. Another problem we had was that the night club (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) was directly underneath our room. This became a problem when people came out of the nightclub and... More

We booked through Neilson Ski to stay at the Nievesol, Formigal, Spain during New year and liked the reviews of this hotel. Wouldn't book through Neilson again as a cock-up with flight tickets etc, they changed out flight on Christmas Eve, two days before we left, saying that they would e-mail through e-ticket for new flight. Had to chase e-mail... More

The Nievesol is a basic but very pleasant hotel. The food was ok, but remember this is very tradition Spanish when it comes to the time and quantity of food you receive. New Year gala was excellent food was great and wine included. Hotel was very busy indeed, and very family orientated, so expect some noise etc in the bar... More

We stayed at the Hotel Nievesol for 4 days in December 2007. It's located very conveniently next to the bus stop for free buses that take you to the slopes of Formigal (3-minute ride to the first set of lifts), so you can walk with your ski boots on without a problem. The hotel also has a ski rental shop... More
