There’s not much going on in Isla Cristina, and the area feels like a low-rent Spanish seaside town. Once inside the Sensimar Isla Cristina Palace & Spa, though, there’s no looking back at what’s outside. There’s a lot about the Isla Cristina Palace to warrant its 5★ rating (the complementary Cava on arrival was a positive first impression), but there’s... More

Fantastic relaxing stay. Don't be put off by the dingy buildings on the way to Hotel and only go if you want to relax. There is absolutely nothing else to do but relax and enjoy the spotless pool and wonderful beach. Tui provide activities for their German guests which you can join in with (in German!) A week was long... More

As we have decided to end up a 2 weeks trip to Andalucia and Algarve on the beach we have chosen Isla Cristina and Sensimar Isla Cristina Palace, where we have spent 5 days. Both choices were wrong. There is clearly nothing interesting in Isla Cristina and the good dining choices are limited - after first 3 tries we have... More

So, hotel nr. 4 in our trip through Algarve and Costa de La Luz. Let's start by saying I know this place for many years, but never stayed there. I prefer the Barcelo, since it it closer to the city. Not a really cheap hotel, we all know that, the rooms were a bit dissapointing, staying in casa bela moura,... More

It's too bad that the service was terrible, because the hotel and food were really quite nice. My newly wed wife and I were a young couple (myself being American and her Swiss) among an older class of couples who were mostly locals. Several of the service staff made my wife and I feel unwelcome, lacking smiles, and even sneering... More

My husband and I were traveling along the Algarve coast of Portugal and decided to spend a night in this "fancy" 5-star hotel just over the border in Spain. It was expensive but we decided to splurge for one night. The outside was beautiful, as were the lobby and pool area, but the room was a big disappointment. No double... More

First of all, Isla Cristina is not fun or a beutiful place at all, but, for me it was no problem because I went to Isla Cristina Palace, a 5 stars Hotel to enjoy the hotel it self. The hotel is quite new or well maintened. The rooms are good and spacious, but a 5 stars hotel is not meant... More

Stayed for a week on half Board. The area in which this hotel is located does is not a major Tourist spot, the town itself is very quiet which may suit some, but there is little to do outside of the hotel unless yo are prepared to drive along the coast to other small fishing villages such as Rompido, or... The positives: - good, spacious pool areas - easy access to beach - great views to beach from rear of hotel - friendly reception and restaurant staff - good variety and quality of food - good evening entertainment (free) The negatives: - pool freezing (including the children pool) - no entertainment or play facilities or toys for children or adults... My husband and I have just spent a wonderful week here. We had 5 star service from start to finish. We parked outside the hotel door, and our suitcases were whisked up to our rooms as we checked in. All the staff, from the chambermaids up to management were SO helpful, and so friendly. We loved every minute of it! The... More
