A beautiful quirky hotel right in the centre of Caminha. Gorgeous rooms, beautiful breakfast and great value. Check it out if in the area. The town of Caminha is really worth a stop with good transport links to Porto etc.

Impressions: An attractive looking building when viewed from the town centre square that belied the rather stunning interior. Once inside you could see that a great amount of thought had gone into the place. It was quite minimalist and relied on heavily black and white. But there were oddities - old bicycles dotted around, a long and narrow restaurant. Every... More

Almost the whole package. We were part of a large cycling group that stayed here for a night. Very accommodating staff. We had one of the water front rooms. Our friends in the room next door had the same complaint. Was either the cleaning products used, the laundry soap, or disinfectant, but we could not have the air conditioning on... More

Ultra stylish hotel, with design classics randomly places around the public areas - like a red phone box and a penny farthing! We stayed in the rotating pod with views over to Spain. Electric shutter and blinds - very sleek. Very impressive shower with jets from every direction. Lovely breakfast with fresh fruits, croissants and pastries, cereals juices etc. Reception... More

Just returned from a three day visit to this hotel. On the plus side it is attractive and clean, the rooms are good and the food at dinner was excellent. Unfortunately there are several disappointing negatives hence the three star rating. We had asked for a room with a view of the garden, the receptionist proudly showed us a room... More

The Design and Wine hotel is as the name indicates is a very cool and stylish hotel, in a palace like building right in the main square of this medieval town. Extremely romantic. All rooms are different and very cool. We stayed in the video games room on the first floor with a varanda pointing to the main square. The... More

We arrived in mid October when the sun already had been on vacation. We couldn't even see the ocean because of rain and bad weather conditions at that time, but the temperature was still ok (20 degrees). So in these months of the lower season it is much nicer to chose a room with a city center view because the... More

I booked a "superior" room on the movîng part of the hotel for 150€. We arrived at 12h30: a woman at the reception barely looked at us and just said "check-in is at 2pm" Ok.... I mean it's ok to have hotel rules but maybe she could have just asked if we had a nice trip and that she was... More

Wished we could have stayed longer in Caminha and at this year old, well designed hotel. It is a modern, minimalist design with some touches of the region. The rooms are all different with individual themes. We stayed in the Video Game room which is designed with the PAC Man theme. The room is ample with very comfortable bedding and... More

Nice dining room facing a minimalist garden, but no river view. Menu with 5 options for starter, meat, fish and dessert. For starter, I would recommend the shrimp, exquisitely prepared. Cod fish tartar with green pea cream was no more than reasonable Seafood "cataplana" had a good sort of seafood, but lack of spices. The best part of the meal... More
