As our usual Magione accommodation was not available, we, along with friends, needed one night's accommodation in transit to other parts of Italy. We booked a room for two nights in late 2013, and in early 2014, realized that we only needed it for one night, but I was unable to contact anyone, even by phone from Canada. Our friends... More

Dear guest Thank you for sharing your thoughts about our agriturismo, all criticism is always welcome as it helps us address issues that might need improvement. It is hard to contact me by phone over the winter because the Casale is closed and we are farmers, working in our fields most of the time tough if you call us in... More

We got totally lost trying to find this place first of all as the satnav sent us to a private house up a dirt track. Eventually we found it and waited patiently 5 mins for the electric gates to open and let us drive up to the house. We were met by a (teenage?0 girl who, strangely, didn't ask us... More

Dear guest I'm really sorry about your negative experience though I am confident that you would have completely changed your mind had you just decided to give us a chance, after all, as you also pointed out, there must be a reason why most of our guests are enthusiastic about us and we have got recognition on tripadvisor as well... The Casale della Staffa is a beautiful Inn located a short distance from the highway, surrounded by 500 year old olive trees and vineyards. The views are picturesque and the grounds are lovely. The building was fully renovated a few years ago and is beautifully decorated. The inn makes a great home base for day trips to Assisi, Siena, Cortona,... More

Casale Della Staffa is everything you dream about when you think of the Italian Countryside. When we pulled up to the property and got out out of the car , It took my breathe away. The views were stunning, beautiful countryside, olive groves, grape vineyards, beautiful landscaping. A relaxing pool overlooking lovely views which we cooled off after settling in.... More

Peaceful setting, understated elegance, warm Italian hospitality. The Casale is located within easy driving distance of Assisi, Todi, Cortona, Siena, and other cities, and is close to a grocery and several restaurants - yet is completely out in the country, adjacent to a working farm. The only thing I heard in the morning was the birds singing. Great views of... More

Stayed in "Noce" apartment for a week, and I was in heaven. The gardens, views of the vineyards, tasteful decorations and antique furniture and most of all the attention Claudia and Odetta gave us made this my favorite spot in Italy. We could access all the towns we wanted to drive to like Sienna, Cortona, Assisi, Spello, Todi and Montefalco... More

You are really too kind, we truly feel we are fulfilling our mission when our guests tell us how much they enjoyed staying with us... I admit it is not entirely our merit, we definitely owe a great deal to all this beauty and history and excellencies to discover everywhere in Umbria; it makes our job much easier. Thank you... More

From the first moment that we stepped through the door of the Casale, we were made to feel so incredibly welcome. We were greeted by Claudia, who ran the bed and breakfast, and Odetta, who saw to all of our needs for the duration of our stay. We have stayed a week in this special place and enjoyed every minute. It is located in a rural area, but very convenient to reaching the highway. The building has much charm, is beautifully decorated and is located between olive trees and vineyards. The service was wonderful as well.

We arrived after dark in Magione, followed our GPS-system and arrived in a totally wrong place in Magione... After ca 30 min of riding and looking and searching, we called Il Casale di Magione. Really tranquil and relaxing location yet close to the main road Perugia / Florence, which make it very convenient to take day trips to beautiful Umbrian locations; Tuscany is very close too. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ideally situated in the green heart of Umbria the agriturismo Casale della Staffa is a typical Umbrian farm dating from 1440 and transformed into an elegant country residence where the guests are warmly welcomed in a homely atmosphere. The main building comprises five large rooms, one suite, two self-catering apartments and various cosy lounge areas. Like the main building, the additional annexes were finely restored, and turned into independent cottages with kitchenette available for rent on a weekly basis in the summer and for a minimum three day stay the rest of the year. All rooms and apartments are bright, airy with the traditional wooden beams on the ceiling and are elegantly furnished with antiques and artisanal furniture, ironwork, and traditional Umbrian loom weaved fabrics for a tasteful and cozy feeling of home away from home. The Casale features also a swimming pool with a large sun terrace, overlooking the vineyard and the olive groves. The hotel is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves that cover the hilly surroundings of Montemelino di Magione, just a few kilometers from Lake Trasimeno and about 15 km from the historical town of Perugia and its many attractions. It is an ideal base from which to visit the cities of art in Umbria and Tuscany, such as Perugia, Assisi, Spello, Todi, Cortona, Florence and Siena among many others are just 10 to 150 Km. away. ... more   less
