We were blown away by Cretaiole, and our expectations were sky-high. It seemed to have received only rave reviews, all of them 5 stars, superlatives galore. What drew us most was the experience of personal connection with the people who own and run Cretaiole, that is the warm and gracious Moricciani family, assisted by the superb Carlotta. Carlotta is essentially... More

My partner and I stayed here for three nights and it was the highlight of our one month Europe holiday. The property is situated on a hill with great views over the countryside. We opted for the Dolce Sosta package which is highly recommended as it adds so much to the experience including a welcome basket of food that you... More

Lovely, warm, and charming place. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Cretaiole for the week with our friends. It was the perfect introduction to Val d Orcia. Incredible scenery, lovely surroundings, good location for reaching the Hillside towns and wonderful and caring owners and staff. Definetly plan on returning with or without friends and certainly with our 25... More

The Moricciani family ensures you will have every opportunity to see, taste, smell, feel, and touch everything the Val D'orcia has to offer. Cretaiole is the real thing. A charming, rustic, genuine converted farm that offers a spectacular location for venturing out into the local area or simply laying back and absorbing the views. (that all the "tourists" are photographing... More

We join the many other impossibly positive reviewers - for the details of this adventure, see recent posts. We had the smallest rm but that was what we wanted - and it was just right for us. We made three fires during the week, socialized with the other guests as much as we wanted - your choice. One afternoon, we... More

We spent an all-too-short week at Cretaiole, and I still can't find words for how wonderful it was. I've tried to explain it to people, but I just end up telling them "you have to go there and see for yourself." We travel a lot, and this was just such a unique and personal experience . . . it's truly... More

First you start with the Tuscany Val D'Orcia which is a drop-dead beautiful valley and the entire valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then you add a beautiful old farmhouse with excellent views of said valley but with modern kitchens and bathrooms. Finally you top this off with the Moricciani family (and Carlotta!) who not only provide all conceivable... More

We had been there before but when friends wanted to know a place in Itay to celebrate their anniversary we knew they would love Cretaiole. Of course we offered to go with them. We all enjoyed every minute. The location is perfect in the heart of Tuscany. The care and friendliness of the the Moricciani family is unsurpassed. You can... More

My mom and I stayed a week at the agriturismo Cretaiole in Tuscany early in April, 2015. Everything about the stay was terrific. The lodging was very charming and comfortable, with pretty grounds, and views of Pienza and the tuscan countryside. The best part of our stay was the opportunity to get to know a tuscan family, in this case... More

8 friends and I stayed at Cretaiole in March of 2013 and I still want to rave about the phenomenal locations, beautiful grounds and amazing help that Isabella provided. The next year we went to Provence, and although wonderful in its own right, the entire group kept comparing it to our stay at Cretaiole and Provence was falling a bit... More
