Use Palazzo Brandano (PB) as a base to easily access Montepulciano, Montalcino, Cortona and/or various hidden gems off the Tuscan “route naturale” within easy driving distance/time from the sleepy village of Petroio. Location is generally 15-45 km (20 – 60 minutes) from the well-known more tourist-centric towns of central/southern Tuscany. We were received with a warm welcome from Linda and... More

One cannot comment this place without mentioning its host/manager Ousmane. He is unique, ultra personable. He drove us to the best restaurant in Montepulciano whereby only him could secure a reservation at short notice. The other host Linda is also very helpful. The hotel is as good as you could imagine from looking at the photos, only more organized and... More

This place is fantastic. We had a gorgeous suite - elegant, spacious and with an amazing view. Our children had their own room which they loved as well. Dinner at the hotel was absolutely delicious. The terrace behind the hotel is a lovely place to sit and take in the Tuscan countryside. But what really makes Palazzo Brandano stand out... More

Palazzo Brandano was one of the best hotels our family stayed at over our two week trip to Rome and Tuscany. When we pulled up to the hotel, someone came rushing out to help us get our bags and settle in. The rooms were very spacious and the staff made us feel like we were staying with family. Palazzo Brandano... More

LOCATION: Petroio is a tiny, lovely little village nestled amid rolling Tuscan hills. A population of probably sub-300, it's a charming place with villagers chatting across cobblestone streets, flower-lined balconies and passion-fruit vines above doorsteps. It's also centrally located; you can visit all the popular destinations in Tuscany and Umbria -- 30-60 minutes of a drive to most places. BUILDING:... More

Palazzo Brandano rates as one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. It is a magnificent palace with romantic location in the fabulous medieval Petroio with panoramic views of Tuscany hills. It is a delightful retreat, a place to get a sense of Tuscany's long history while enjoying the first class comforts of an enchanting hotel. The food was... More

We spent four nights at Palazzo Brandano. The town of Petroio is very sleepy. It is gorgeous and unlike any of the major tourist towns such as Montepulciano or Pienza. We truly liked the location and the serenity of the small hilltown. The manager, Osemane, is truly the extraordinary host described in previous reviews. He will make your stay memorable.... More

We spent our first night in Italy at this beautiful inn in quaint Petroio. We wished we had been able to stay longer! The staff was over-the-top friendly and made my family (kids ages 7 and 10) very comfortable, even giving us a separate room for the kids and no extra charge. The place is small enough and comfortable enough... More

We stayed in Pallazo Brandano for three nights at the end of June 2014. It's located in a tiny picturesque village off the beaten track, but very close to popular villages of Montepulciano, Montechiello, Pienza, Montalcino, etc. The place is very charming and quiet, just wonderful. On our arrival, we got upgraded to a suite and we have been really... More
