What a wonderful place to visit and to spend a few days - perched high on top of the hill sits this huge stone Nobleman's property, overlooking acres of vineyards and olive trees, surrounded by little towns leaning amongst the green hills in the distance - that's the view you get to see every where you look when staying at... my husband and I just returned from a short holiday in Tuscany. we stayed at Villa Pitiana, and this was the climax of our journey. breath taking location on top of the hill. building is ancient and the old atmosphere is nicely kept with the necessary modern touch. very comfortable beds and spacious rooms (we stayed in the "superior" rooms).... Amazing 13th century villa, with excellent location, and even better view. Villa is on top of hill, around 30km from Florence in village called Donnini. Having a car is a plus, but there is a train station 4km from villa with direct connection with Florence (30 minutes train ride). Villas employees are so kind and help full, it was a... More

Beautiful setting views, interesting rooms, amazing place for a wedding, service on the day was impeccable and food was fantastic. The restaurant and bar were slightly overwhelmed by the wedding group though

We stayed here in Sept 2013. The hotel is an old Tuscan villa in the hills near the small village of Donini. The rooms have been tastefully restored in a traditional style, we stayed in a double room which was very spacious with a small kitchen 2 bathrooms and a small kitchen and table . Allthough we ate in the... More

Really don't know where to start, this property in parts is nearly 1000 years old !!! It has fantastic views from every side and inside. It does look old in places but that adds to the charm. Lets see what you look like in 930 years. It has been a farm, vineyard, monastery and goodness knows what else in its... More

I stayed here in late July with my two daughters and one on their boyfriends. The place was amazing and had us ooing and awwing all the time. The views from our second storey bedroom were stunning, looking across the valley. There is a swimming pool which with plenty of area to spread out around. On our second day we... More

We stayed at Villa Pitiana for four nights. We booked a superior room and were placed in a beautiful corner room on the first floor (not ground floor). As you will see by the photos, the room and the bathroom were huge and we had a beautiful view. Here is my opinion of the good and the bad, I hope... More

My wife and I recently stayed there May 18-21, 2013. The location was picturesque and the staff very helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend taking the wine tasting. The sommelier was warm and friendly and later on when we had dinner there, he chose our wine for us. Food was excellent, rooms were very spacious. The breakfast could use a... More
