We stayed here with our three children and another couple in June 2013. We had 3 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen, which was just perfect. There was a pool, laundry, and a quiet country atmosphere. The host family was wonderful and we had a terrific time. We experienced the cooking class, making pasta from scratch. It was so... More

We enjoyed many day trips from Il Molinello during our 5 day stay. Received a nice welcome from Carmen and rented bikes for one ride thru the beautiful area. The breakfast was good, but seemed a little over-priced for what you got. Acacia was a nice apartment (clean and quiet), but the WIFI was out of order in the apartment.... More

Our family of 4 (including 2 daughters in their 20's) spent a delightful weeklong family vacation here: arranged by Food.Stories.Travel , it allowed for the perfect combination of guided activities (cycling, winery visits etc) and time alone to explore or relax by the pool. The accommodations were ideal, each with bedroom and bath (best shower ever in Italy!), and common... More

We have traveled to Italy many times and stayed in many beautiful places (apartments, hotels, inns) and this was really the best ever. We stayed at Il Molinello for a week (next time it will be longer!) for cycling, hiking and relaxing. The folks at Il Molinello worked with a company called Food. Stories. Travel. to put together a custom... More

We stayed at Il Molinello for 7 nights in late May. What a great authentic experience. An oasis filled with the scents of flowers, the songs of birds we don't have at home and the feeling that we were Tuscans (even if just for a week). The Draghi family was wonderful, the apartment spacious and airy with a great view... More

We stayed at Il Molinello for three nights in early May. It was wonderful. We were able to take a break from the hectic crowds of Venice/Florence/Rome and have three delightful days in Tuscany. They arranged for us to have a English guided tour of Siena. It was wonderful. We also rented bikes and road around the area. The unit... More

We stayed here for 2 nights during a 12-day trip to Italy, and this hotel was by far the best! We stayed in the albicoco apartment, which has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen and two outdoor seating areas. The apartment was very comfortable- great beds and water pressure (a rare combo in Italy) and the hosts were very... More

I can't imagine a better place to stay if you are going through Tuscany. The specialness of the place seems to appeal to the needs of anyone who may go there. We stayed for 8 days, traveling with a young child, and I've never seen him so happy, heading to the trampoline every morning, dipping naked in the pool, learning... More

We extended our stay by a day as we enjoyed it so much and all of us agree we could easily have stayed a week. After having some city touring, we really enjoyed being out in the country with wide open spaces and having a chance to relax, tour around, and bike. The owner were gone, but Carmen was a... More

We stayed at this charming farm house for 5 nights in March, 2014. Elisa, Alessandro, Carmen and all other family members were super nice and helpful. Our room was recently remodeled with modern conveniences. It was very clean, cozy and comfortable. It is at the center of the beautiful Tuscany country. Whichever direction we drove, we saw fantastic landscape. We... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In 1996 we moved to the Crete Senesi and we fell in love with the Molinello: Etruscan origins, medieval mill, peace and tranquility. That’s why we decided to share it with our guests and their four-legged friends. The farm keeps the whole family busy: Alessandro (biologist, nature guide and Sommelier), Elisa who looks after the administration, Mauro and Paola, retired but full time busy on the farm. And we hope that in the future even Emma, Guido and Bernardo will give us a helping hand. We produce vegetables and fruit, olive oil and truffles from organic agriculture.F or our guests we organize a rich program of initiatives discovering the colours and flavours of the Crete, organic homemade breakfast, wine tasting in our cosy winery, cooking lessons, olive oil tastings, wine tours, and excursions by bike guided by Alessandro who is fond of cycling. Only 4 km from our farm there are the thermal baths of Rapolano which grant special discounts to our guests. ... more   less
