Santa Maria is as unspoilt an Italian small town that you will probably find by such a fine beach. But it should come with some warnings. the Palazzo would not be suitable for anyone with any kind of physical disability due to the many steps to pool, beach or room. We are quite gym fit but the 55 steps to... More

If you are looking for a quiet relaxing break in idyllic surroundings I cannot recommend Palazzo Belmonte highly enough. We had a beautiful room overlooking the edge of the town and seafront. The decoration is simple but luxurious and you feel as though you have stepped back in time to join a 1920s house party. There was air conditioning in... More

The Plazzo and San Marie are unspoilt locations, much like I guess the Med would have been in the 60's or 70's. The hotel itself is a stunning property in a great location, that has huge potential, it has a great pool, superb beach access, good gardens and fab staff. The Beleverde bar offers some of the best views of... More

The Palazzo Belmonte really needs to decide whether it is a 5* hotel or Prince Belmonte’s hobby. The 17th century palazzo, a two-hour plus trip from Naples Airport, is still partially inhabited by the family that has owned it for generations. The part of the main building unused by the Belmonte family contains some suites and rooms of differing size... More

Planning a romantic holyday extended weekend in southern Italy? Allow yourself to check availability at the Palazzo Belmonte, Santa Maria di Castellabate. This old but well renovated and updated palace offers calm quality, surrounded by a nice garden, outdoor pool and a private beach. Excellent meals are provided by the hotel kitchen, best enjoyed at a sea view table in... More

This palace is on a beautiful property overlooking the ocean and it has two lovely outdoor dining areas (one for dinner and another for breakfast) and a private beach. These strengths, however, do not result in a positive experience because the hotel is poorly maintained and not a good value. We were upgraded to a spacious suite because the room... More

We were there early so bar and restaurant was not set up so cannot comment on that. But why oh why were there no robes or teamaking facilities in our room - even though we were on a lower tariff I felt it was penny pinching. The town was delightful and 1 minute walk away.

A lovely oasis in a traditional Italian holiday village. The Palazzo is beautiful and the gardens peaceful. Our family 2 room apartment was clean and spacious. The pool and private beach area give you clear and pleasant choices. You definitely feel like a special person on the beach given the extra space afforded. The staff were generally good, especially the... More

This is not the "normal" hotel and steer clear if you want modern comforts. Whilst it is rather tired and ill maintained building it is a hotel in a good location with a great deal of character and "feel" in well kept and extensive grounds. Apart from mosquitos, the only downside to me was that we had trouble finding real... More

The only reason this hotel is being given three stars is its setting right on the Mediterranean Sea with spectacular sunsets and views to Capri and the Amalfi coast. All three meals a day are served outside with these views. That means that often the breakfast fare is served cold. But lunch is fun with the warm sun and wonderful... More
