From the time we walked into this so called hotel !!! I just wish I ran with my gut feeling and that was just to turn around & walk out, but because I was with my children and we wanted lunch we stayed, we entered the lounge there was two people eating food, the time was 2,30pm 8/11/15 we sat... I have been visiting Blackwater regularly throughout my life and have always thought very highly of the village and locals. I visited the hotel for some food for lunch. Firstly there was the issue of the fact that I had to go up to the bar to request a menu for the food. The bar man said he'd have to... More

I visited here on 17 July and ate lunch. There were about 20 other customers - lounge was at about 1/4 capacity. One waitress on duty provided friendly service. Menu was standard bar food. Food was well cooked and well presented. Reasonable value. Men's toilet is best avoided!

Stayed here with wife and two kids and would definitely stay again. On arrival we met a lovely staff member, Diane, who checked us in and also helped us out with any queries we had during our stay. The room was basic enough but it was plenty big for our family. Personally I would change the window in the bedroom... More

I am only reviewing this from the bar food meal experience - Great place to take the kids, or without them too! for a weekend meal, have been with and without the kids, so good for either - food is always excellent - waiting staff are always pleasant and accommodating - they even gave out little gift bags to all... I did not actually stay at this hotel, however we went for dinner on several occasions as we rented a house nearby! The atmosphere was nice and service was good! We enjoy staying in blackwater, it's not far from Wexford town and there are some lovely beaches nearby.

I was very disappointed with the lack of cleanliness in the rooms. They were dusty and looked like they hadn't been aired in months. The bare minimum of cleaning had been done, i.e.. beds changed, towels changed & bins emptied. The windows were covered in dust & cobwebs! There was rubbish stuffed down behind the bedside lockers & the closer... More

Stayed here last night - sheets were clean but apart from that the room obviously hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. We spent a considerable amount of time removing cobwebs, catching spiders dangling over our beds & cleaning the bathroom (last guests soap left on bath). Discarded rubbish was jammed behind the headboard, lamps didn't work & I... More
