The Trim Castle Hotel is often commended for its spacious rooms and prime location that offers stunning views of Trim Castle, with many guests appreciating the convenience to local attractions. While the hotel's service earns high marks for its professionalism and friendliness, opinions on value and atmosphere are split; some guests find the pricing reasonable and the environment relaxing, while others point out high costs and noises from events. Despite occasional cleanliness and upkeep issues, the amenities, especially the food and proximity to historical sites, are popular highlights.

Where to begin! Just back from a 2 night stay as our first break away since covid hit. Great hotel! Location, food, staff, view & value. Couldn't ask for any better. The staff are working hard to keep all guests safe while maintaining a friendly, welcome and down to earth atmosphere. The rooms are spotless and once you enter its like a cocoon of peace shut off from the world with fabulous views. The bar and food are exceptionally great value and hats off to management for inviting guests at such good rates..... I would have been happy to pay more for our stay. It was our first time to Trim but hopefully not our last! I think we've definitely found a new favoured break away. Thank you for a perfect weekend!

Myself and my partner stayed at Trim Castle hotel for two nights. From the minute we checked in we had a great time. We had stayed here last year and when we got to our room there was a hand written card welcoming us back and a complimentary box of biscuits from the hotel. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. From the people on reception to the housing staff everyone of them where lovely. We had dinner on the 1st night in Jules restaurant which was gorgeous and we had lunch in the bistro bar also which was delicious. We will definitely be returning, infact we talked about making it an annual get away and hopefully if my partner, of 8 years decides to propose anytime soon we would definitely consider Trim Castle for our wedding venue. So thanks again Trim Castle for a fabulous stay at your gorgeous hotel. Xx

Amazing overnight stay at Trim Castle Hotel on the family Tayto Park package. As a family of 6 it is near impossible to find suitable hotel accommodation so we were delighted to find out at check in that we had interconnecting rooms at no extra charge! The attention to detail is superb - tepee in room with hot chocolate treat, book and personal letter for kids - a little effort goes such a long way so thank you so much! Hotel is beautiful, staff are very pleasant & the current Covid restrictions are being very well adhered to. We also ate in the Bailey bar in the evening which was delicious & the breakfast in Jules restaurant was fantastic too. Wonderful stay, will be definitely recommending to others , so nice to see a hotel offer such a great family offer, great memories made!

My fiancé and myself had booked a two night bnb stay with Prosecco on arrival. Hotel looks nice on arrival, couldn’t understand why residents have to pay for parking at €3 a night! I think that is quite mean tbh, when we are already giving the hotel business.

Check in was ok, was told we had to book for breakfast and dinner. Only available slot for Sunday morning was 8.15, I said no that is too early and we would have the breakfast in the room this again was a €5 pps surcharge. We got up to the room which was just ok, view is lovely that is probably the best about the room.

For dinner you had to eat in the bar because the restaurant was closed, bar food was ok, a lot of running around and staff not sure what they are doing. But otherwise the bar service was good. Breakfast was lovely, but the service was awful, waiting ages on tea and juice. You didn’t know if you could get cereal, because all you get is a menu with a few options on it. All was just very confusing.

The most disappointing part of it for me was it was meant to be are wedding day on Friday 30th July. All I would have liked was the Prosecco i had booked to be in a bucket with two glasses and maybe a few chocolates wishing us a happy wedding day. In the end we never got the bottle of Prosecco, so I asked for it at reception on check out, she apologized and then gave me a bottle of Prosecco which was OPENED and just about half full!!! All she wanted was our cash, had to pay for the breakfast and the car park!

Very very disappointed with it all and I won’t be back.

I was very disappointed with our stay at Trim Castle Hotel. We booked a superior double room which wasn't nearly as nice as the photos. The window in the room was small which made the room seem dark and I had to stand on my tiptoes to even see out of it. The bed was 2 singles pushed together and the seam that it caused down the middle of the bed made the bed very uncomfortable. Also, the filtered bottled water that was in the room tasted like plain old tap water.

The food we had for dinner while there was just so so and the service was poor. When we went for breakfast the next morning, they were just starting to get breakfast set up at the time when breakfast was supposed to begin. Once again the food was just so so and the service was poor because they were too busy doing things that should have already been done.

The worst part of the stay was the wedding/reception that was being held the night we stayed. The music was extremely loud as were the guests. At one point we had several guests talking, yelling, and generally being very loud in the area right outside our room door. It was our last night in Ireland and we were disappointed that it ended on somewhat of a sour note.

The one good thing I can say about the hotel is that it is directly across from Trim Castle. It was nice to just be able to walk across the street to visit the castle.

I would not recommend Trim Castle Hotel and we will not be staying there again.

Stayed here for NYE, it was meant to be a 5 course meal included in the deal but when we checked in we were told it was 3 courses and in a different bar. We Booked an executive double room and was disappointed to see it was 2 single beds pushed together, not even a double bed mattress so could really feel the gap between the two beds. The water in the bath/shower was luke warm and we informed front desk but nothing could be done.

The service at dinner wasn’t great, understandably they were busy given it was NYE and a wedding was on. We ordered our dessert at the start of the evening and when we asked for our dessert, we were abruptly told the kitchen was closed and the server stormed off. 10 minutes later, our desserts were brought and w were rudely told the kitchen had to be reopened! But the. Other Other tables around us started to get their desserts. My partner ordered a fresh glass of white wine and when the server came over he just poured the last remaining bit of the old glass into the new glass.

However I will say the Breakfast was nice and the staff that morning were attentive but overall unfortunately it was quite a disappointing stay. Would not have thought it was a 4 star hotel.

We booked this hotel as just a quick one night getaway and I’d do it again tomorrow .
The hotel itself is modern , welcoming and in a great location opposite Trim Castle .
Our room was genuinely incredible . A balcony with a view over the castle , plenty of space in the bedroom , a couch , 2 armchairs and on the balcony 2 rattan loungers and a rattan couch . Despite our best efforts we didn’t get to lounge about too long on the balcony ....... I mean it’s January ..... in Ireland 😀.
The food in the hotel restaurant was sublime . It was that nice that later in the evening we decided to get a few nibbles sent to the room ( I would highly recommend the cheese and meat platter for late night munchies - incredible ) .
The standout thing about this place though is undoubtedly the staff . From the warm welcome at reception , to the incredibly friendly bar and waiting staff to the management . It’s really nice to be in a place for the first time and yet to be made feel like a regular .
My only regret is that we were not staying longer

Myself & My Boyfriend stayed in the hotel on the 12th of August for 2 night and we couldn’t have picked a better hotel.
The hotel, atmosphere & surroundings was absolutely amazing.
The staff in the bar especially Joe & Kevin, staff at breakfast in the morning and everyone we seen went above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as possible.
A lady’s customer service on reception was exceptional even helped us book our next stay by showing The Bridal Suite and Room 301. I didn’t get her name but she did an amazing job can you please thank her from us again.
We couldn’t recommend your hotel enough to our family & friends.
Thanks for such a lovely stay & See you all in November ☺️

Great location and the breakfast bar had a lot of choices. The staff is friendly and the parking was right next to the hotel and only cost 3€ You could easily walk around the town and the castle.
They off a conference room and cater for the event.

I choose Trim Castle as its reviews post reopening where all positive, BIG mistake. All except 1 employee wore a face mask, which is a big worry. Food and service was good, although our check in time was 4pm, I assume for room deep clean which is very good, but our room wasn’t ready until 4.30pm. Despite requesting a quiet room at the time of our booking, the guests directly beside decided to have a party until 3.00am.

The phones in the room didn’t work, so had to phone reception directly from our personal phones at 1.15am, 2.00am and again at 3.00am to report the party next door. The night manager did call to the room after our first complaint, but we didn’t hear any other attempt to stop the party next door.

So at our 3.00am phone call with reception they offered us a different room, which we took - BUT why did we have to move? I would have thought that the hotel should have fixed the problem rather than move us to another room.

Next morning I asked where I could complain, the person at reception said that they where aware of the issue during the night, but it was only a loud TV - if that was true then the separating walls between the rooms is not sufficiently insulated was my response. But I persisted in that I wanted to make a formal complaint, so the hotel manager then came out, noted my complaint, apologised and offered a small refund as compensation.

Compensation isn’t what I wanted, correct night time noise management is what should of happened, and strict COVID 19 precautions by all staff is what I would have expected.

In conclusion, I regret our stay in Trim Castle, no face masks by employees and parties until 3.00am isn’t what was expected, plus I felt that my initial complaint to the reception staff wasn’t taken seriously and the tried to fob it off - which shows poor management training sadly.
