Staying at Doonbeg was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The rooms and amenities, the food, service and especially the staff are amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a true, authentic coastal Ireland experience. And, the golf course kicked my butt but it was fantastic, too. more

My husband surprised me with a night in Doonbeg Lodge the last weekend in novmber. We arrived on a cold and wet afternoon and went straight to the spa for a massage. The spa area is very luxurious and the service was great - felt very well looked after. Could relax after in the sauna area and no pressure to... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here mid week last week, and I could not recommend this hotel enough. I have stayed in many 5 star establishments throughout the world and this was possibly the best yet. The staff are 2nd to none, they are so genuinely friendly and helpful, which we noticed from checking in at the beginning. The reception... more

We went to Doonbeg to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary having heard great things about it from family & friends who had already stayed there . To be honest we had an idea that it was just for golfers but my sister who had stayed the previous week convinced us otherwise. Although there is a golf course there & we... more

We stayed at Doonbeg over the August bank holiday weekend. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the beach with what I was advised an excellent links course. We booked online and there was some confusion with the room type and were upgraded to a courtyard suite. The room was one of the nicest I have stayed in... more

What a wonderful place. Though well off the beaten track, the facilities and golf at Doonbeg were extraordinary. Our lodgings were beautiful, the food in both the restaurant and onsite pub was wonderful and the service both friendly and wonderfully attentive. The golf course is definitely world class. more

Spent a few nights over the long weekend in the Lodge at Doonbeg. Upgraded to a seaview suite and all I can say that it was worth the extra money. Amazing accommodation probably the best I have stayed in while in Europe - up there with the wedding suite we had in the Ritz Carlton in Powerscourt for our wedding... more

Let me start by saying neither my wife not I golf. But even without golfing on the course (which looked pretty incredible), we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were spaceous, modern, clean. Plenty of room in the bathrooms and a wonderful shower. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. We also found... more

The Lodge at Doobeg is a beautiful place to stay, the rooms are gorgeous, the staff are friendly and attentive and the golf course is out of this world. The views from some of the holes are literally breathtaking- to be fair we got to play on a beautiful sunny June afternoon so we were spoiled. The staff in the... more

I have to start this review by saying that the Lodges at Doonbeg are one of the most stunning places I've ever stayed in. From the moment you arrive, you know you're about to experience something special. You're welcomed with the smell of a turf fire at reception, an area which proudly showcases numerous books full of positive guest comments,... more
