The reality as we experienced it bears little resemblance to the pictures on the website. The staff were charming and helpful when they could be but some of them appeared to be untrained and struggled with the hotel's apparently complex booking system. Our rooms were small and very (very!) hot. The bed linen smelled stale, the radiator in the bathroom... More

On a bike scouting trip we stayed here for one night. We had our dog with us and they allowed him in as well but only in the lower end rooms. These rooms were still nice and clean. The hotel is located in the center and occupies a big area with a huge internal courtyard as well. Here they have... More

Kalocsa is a small town about 120 km from Budapest, mainly noted as the historical seat of of one of the catholic archbishops of Hungary. The hotel is located right next to the huge and ostentatious baroque archbishop's palace, in what was once the office building associated with the archbishops' huge estates. The main building has a lot of character... More

We visited the hotel 04.03.2011. The restaurant is great with delicious and abundant meals. The staff of the restaurant is kind and attentive. I enjoyed all the time here. In front of this unfortunately we experienced many negatives in the hotel. The shower tray and rose were broken. The walls are thin, the noise filters through easily. The wellness room... More

We stayed at Hotel Kalocsa**** 5 fantastic days as our honeymoon. The hotel is not so big, but the staff are friendly and very helpful. They have a small wellness section with a swiming pool, a jaccuzie, a steam cabine, and two Finnish saunas. The every day seance held in the sauna is the best thing we have ever tried.... More

I stayed at this hotel six years ago and found it quaint with friendly, helpful service. However, our recent stay for two nights was not enjoyable. I believe the hotel has had a change in ownership. The room was so small and overfurnished that we were tripping over ourselves. The service was really a mixed-bag - from friendly and informative... More

The wellness hotel Kalocsa sells itself as a classy wellness hotel, offering healthy spa treatments and wellness programmes. In reality it's a decent but old hotel with a couple of sauna installations in the basement and a some beauty treatments that hqve seen better days. Kalocsa is a nice little town and well worth a short visit, the Bishop's library... More

We stayed at the Wellness Hotel Kalocsa in August, 2007. From the websites descriptions we had expected a very nice hotel with spa. On the outside the hotel is very beautiful indeed, but the rooms we got were very basic, and they felt like monk's cell in terms of size, although the decor had some charm. Ours were in the... More
