Having just returned from a five nights stay at Amanita for the third year running my thoughts are these: Amanita is an elegant and characteristic stone villa in a beautiful setting, an intoxicating mix of steep slopes densely covered in native trees, sea views, the songs of the nightingale and the perfume of jasmin which pervades the air. Our room... More

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed our visit very much. Filaretos is a very friendly and helpful host who surprised us every day with big variety of his self produced products for breakfast. The house is in a very quiet surrounding allthough the village with restaurants and shops is just a short walk up the hill. The house is... More

We have passed most of our Xmas holidays in Tsagkarada and this year we chose AMANITA to stay, just for a change.I have to admit that our decision proved to be a surprise from the very first moment we stepped in.The hospitality was so warm and friendly, which together with the spacious, nice rooms made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. One thing that... We chose Amanita based on its excellent reviews and we were not disappointed. Filaretos was an excellent host, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Rooms were comfortable and spacious, and we had a great view of the sea from our window (top floor room). The highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the breakfast every morning - amazing... More

Everything you read about Amanita is true. Great food, friendly hosts and beautiful rooms. And it's all set in a quiet but friendly part of Greece, up in the mountains though just 10 minutes drive away from fantastic beaches. Buy the map offered to you for 7 euros and head off on the excellent paths through the forest and down... More

The Pelion is like a wonderland and Amanita is the best place to experience it. Amazing breakfast, different every day - the highlight for me was the porcini omelette (made from porcinis Filaretos had collected) mushroom soup and crackers with porcini paste. The view to the sea and back to the mountains is spellbinding, the walks through the forests where... More

My husband and I spent a weekend in Tsagarada to attend a friend's wedding. We chose to stay in Amanita because it seemed good value for money. After getting there, we realised it was much more than this. Mr Psimmenos and his team offer impeccable hospitality services, with great attention to detail and at an unbeatable price range. In terms... More

We thought Amanita was a fantastic place to stay. On arrival we were met by Filaretos, the host, who gave us a delicious welcoming drink and sat and chatted for a bit giving us some insight into the area, where to eat and what to do including information about good walks. He was also very approachable during the remainder of... More

We stayed at amanita with my wife for 5 nights. Pelion is a magical place and deserves to be visited while staying at a great hotel. Amanita fits this bill perfectly. It's situated about 100m off the asphalt road that leads to Damouchari beach, and there are great views of the sea and the surrounding mountains from the hotel's garden... More

Everything was lovely. Beautifully restored house in a gorgeous location. Everything is super comfortable and nicely looked after. The highlight for us was the breakfasts. Imaginative menu, different everyday, and served by our host who is a real foodie and, (you'll soon find out when you visit), mad about mushrooms. This part of Greece is lush and green, and extremely... More
