Comments based on a one-week stay at Iria Mare Hotel (October-November 2009) 1. Hotel does not always honour confirmed reservations (through RCI) and the excuses are feeble (renovations, no hot water, etc). A complaint to RCI fixed the problem. A couple in the next room also had their confirmed reservations (made through RCI) downgraded (the hotel obviously wanted all the... more

1. You need a car. 2. Nice beach, average sea. 3. Huge old fashioned rooms. 4. Perfect swimming pool (even for kids). 5. For privacy ask for rooms of 700-800 block. For fun and convenience ask for 200-300 block. 6. Poor breakfast. Excellent lunch+dinner of Miditerranean (Greek) dishes. 7. The huge hotel surface diminishes quality details. more

Rooms are spacious but the furniture are old. There is no room service since they do not change towels and when we asked for this they replied they do not have clean towels at that time. The breakfast is really poor and dinner is not delicious at all. Is it quiet and near the sea. The a/c in the rooms... more

This hotel was not exactly what I would expect at a four star hotel, but I would stay there again. You really must have a car if you are going to stay here, but if you have one it is a great base for exploring the surrounding areas. The area it is in is quiet and has great views of... more

We stayed at multiple hotels while travelling through Italy & Greece this March. This was by far my favourite. Though it was kind of in the middle of no where, it was absolutely amazing. We arrived relatively late in the night, but the buffet for dinner was still open. We unfortunately were only there for the one night, but we... more

A nice hotel 100m from the beach of Iria. There is a passage under the road so as to helpseniors and/or children. A large pool with a pool bar. The beach is magnificent. There are courts for tennis - basket ball - beach volley - minigolf and two tables of pingpong. The breakfast is not good. The staff is willing... more

Let me first tell you that I never stayed at the Iria Mare and cannot judge on their facilities nor their service. In fact I booked a holiday for last year September (2007) with one of the main reasons being the promised children animation. When I called a few days before our trip to reconfirm the room and the animation... more

Iria is on the West coast of the Argolid peninsular, some 14km south of Nafplion. It is therefore perfectly placed for visiting some of Greece’s greatest sites, such as Corinth, Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplion itself – a delightful laid-back town. This means that the hotel is used as a staging post by (mainly French) tour operators, but these busloads of... more

I have taken many school groups to Europe over the years, and seen many different levels of quality.I must say that this place was great. We were there in March, which meant it was rather deserted.I can imagine that in peak season,it would be a fun resort at which to stay. The apartment rooms are spacious, and the buffett meals are excellent.Too bad we didn't... more
