Situated on sea front and short distance from town, we stayed 4 nights, us 8 hikers on 3rd week October. What wonderful rooms and view. The lady owner treated us with such hospitality, we felt so happy here. We went directly into sea for swim in morning, and then later had breakfast at Votsala cafe around corner, with its panoramic... More

I have never stayed in the accommodation but on each of my four trips to paleachora we have enjoyed our lunches here just a short step from the stony beach. Each day they have a different special and their vegetarian options are excellent, the best I have eaten in Crete

Service a bit patchy; there was only one waiter. Most food ok or good. Nice place to sit, at the end of the line of restaurants and by the sea. But you are not safe from the roving musicians! I wouldn't rave about it or rush back, but it wasn't nasty.

We found Oriental Bay by chance, it is located at the end of the town, but what a nice place! We had lunch there, unfortunately only once as it was on our last day, but the menu certainly had lots of options for many nice meals. The fish was really well cooked, and we especially like that you go to... More

We didn't stay her but ate here twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner. Both meals were very good and way above the average Cretan meal. The price was good only slightly above far worse restaurants. Recommended for fish.

I adore staying at this hotel..the family are so friendly,I can go straight into the sea for a swim before breakfast and then have breakfast at the café I have been coming here for 25 years and it really takes some beating. As well as the well appointed rooms, the family runs the café Vortsala just around the corner on... More

I couldn't understand why Oriental Bay was not on any 'top ten' list for Paleochora restaurants until I found it listed under accommodation. I'm afraid I don't know what the rooms are like but the restaurant is lovely. They offer the traditional menu you might expect plus specials. The service is always excellent - they didn't even grimace too much... More

Oriental Bay Hotel is situated slightly away from the main town, which is good as it can get noisy in the town (village) - it is situated on the sea front. It is a short and very pleasant walk by the sea into the main part of Paleochora with its tavernas and restaurants - Room was just fine - typical... More

My husband and I go quite often to Paleochora for holidays and the place we usually stay was full, so we decided for oriental bay. We had been there before for lunch and dinner, and really loved their food, but never at the hotel, and we were also so happy to have chosen this place for staying. The owners (sorry... More

Stayed two nights in high season August at Oriental Bay. Wished we had stayed longer. In the whole month that we travelled the Greek islands, we never stayed in another hotel that had the same level of cleanliness, access, view, size, and amenites for the price we paid. Really, we could have stayed the whole month here and it would... More
