The pleasant Wintersberg hotel is located high above the Lahn River next to a restored Roman Limes tower. You sleep right on the ancient border between the Imperium Romanum and Germania Liberum. The hotel can be reached on foot from Bad Ems railway station but it is a steep climb over a path in the forest. Better get a taxi... More

We have just spent a night in this little gem of a hotel just outside of Bad Ems. The location is superb - great views from the terasse and in a forest with some good walking paths. Our dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast were both so good, they will be the draw for us to return! The host... More

We stayed here 2 nights, booked the last minute. We had a room (with balcony) at the back, views of the garden. It is so quiet here, you can easily leave the door open during the night without getting any noise inside. It has sun shades, so the room is pitch black. Bed sleeps really well, the pillow is very... We stayed here room only, as the restaurant was closed on Tuesday's. We was greeted by the owner, who carried our bags to the room. WIFI included, and the breakfast is waiter service. I only wish we could have experienced the dinner, so I could comment on it here, but I would imagine it must be of good quality.

Very nice family hotel on top of a hill. Great location with a nice view over the pittoresk "Lahntal" and the historical "Kurort" Bad Ems with its geysir and mineral water spring. Very good food, "Gutbürgerlich" with a big plus, very nice and surprising dishes. Breakfast is served individually with home-made marmelade etc. The owners really care about their guests.... More

Pros: Welcoming and friendly staff (Great English speakers too which helps with multi-lingually-challenged people like me) Quiet and picturesque location Lovely homemade food with local ingredients. The breakfast was fantastic. Free, fast internet Cons: The room was a little old fashioned, clad entirely in pine. While it was mostly acceptable and even quite kitsch, the bathroom was far too dark,... More

The staff is incredible. It's a family owned hotel / restaurant. Great value for money. At Bookings.com it's rated a 9 out of 10!
