This was a lucky find. Not having booked a hotel room for the week of the biggest outdoor fair in Europe was probably ill advised however it led us to Hotel Meschenmoser, a very nice hotel close to the shore of Lake Constanz. We arrived late and I popped in quickly to see if the last room that was supposedly available according to our internet search was indeed free. The night concierge confirmed it and had us checked in and comfortably parked in no time. Our room at the top floor (accessible via stairs and elevator) was quite spacious with a good sized balcony overlooking the village of Langenargen. Perfect for yoga in the morning sun. A big double bed, a comfy sofa and adequate work space allowed us to feel right at home. No complaints about the bathroom or the cleanliness of the room either. The breakfast buffet served in the bright ground floor space included scrambled and boiled eggs, slices of smoked salmon, a good selection of cold cuts and cheeses, fresh yoghurt and a variety of bread, rolls and jams. There is also (limited) outdoor seating. Coffee and tea was refilled with a smile by the attentive and friendly staff. The hotel is just a minute walk from the shore of Lake Constanz and a short stroll along the pleasant ‘Langenargen Uferpromenaden’ takes you to the village centre and a couple of perfectly nice restaurants. Staying here was well worth the somewhat longer drive into Friedrichshafen each day. The concierge actually gave us directions to use some back roads to the Friedrichshafen fair grounds so we were able to avoid the very busy B31. Hotel Meschenmoser was a lucky find indeed.

This is a bed and breakfast kind of place. But larger. We were bicycling around the lake and this was our third stop. And really really nice. Very nice people, family run place, comfortable, clean and friendly. When we could not get a correct adaptor to charge our Mac, the owner took the trouble to summon her son from home with his charger - now that is service with a smile. Great breakfast.

This is a family driven hotel in a quiet place just in 100m from the shore of Bodensee. I stayed there with my family during business trip and while I was away my family enjoyed the nice Langenargen and fresh air of Bodensee. Due to my work necessity I had some extra requests to our stay, moreover, during the trip the youngest son (1.7y.o.) got sick , so there were additional burdens and our hosts indeed helped with every need we met - from breakfast to the room to arrangement of the appointment to doctor. The feeling was that we became part of family and it gave me confidence that my family is ok while I'm at work. Room that we had was well equipped with big balcony, which we didn't use though due to son sickness, but I'm sure it would be a great place at summer to have a glass of wine or just for some time with book. Wife says there is a infra-red sauna, but we If we will come to this area again, I definitely will start with this hotel.

We had stayed here previously on two trips. This time we travelled with friends, and got big kudos for chosing this place. We opted for the rooms, rather than suites, as those involved a sleeping loft with steep stairs, with bathrooms downstairs. Not good for senior citizens :( the breakfasts were outstanding. We travelled in Germany for 2 weeks, staying in 6 different locations, and cannot say enough about the efforts made by the owners/staff at this hotel to make their guests comfortable and feeling welcome. We will return.

I stayed in this hotel with my seven-year-old son for several nights whilst visiting relatives in the area. We stayed in a room located in an annexe just behind the main building. The room was very spacious with a lovely balcony looking over a lawn and a limited view of the Bodensee which is only a couple of hundred meters away. The brown-coloured 70s style bathroom was a little old-fashioned with a toilet that desperately needs a new seat and cover. Breakfast was a buffet with various local meats and cheeses on offer as well as different types of delicious German breads and cereals. My only complaint would be that neither the bathroom or bedroom floors were cleaned during our stay and there was no fridge which was very annoying and meant that I couldn't keep water, beer or fruit cool. The safe didn't work either, which was somewhat annoying, especially as the owner was always too busy cooking to help fix it. The general quality of service is average - a family-run affair with the two sons working in the hotel who still need to learn some professionalism in their manner. Over all though, my stay was pleasant and comfortable.

Reservation went really well, staff was very polite during this process. Even when I had to call (twice) that we would be late: no problem. I think the owner even staid up, especially for us. We did see her in the morning, working hard at breakfast, while we enjoyed a good night's sleep. Hotel in perfect location, 1 minute from Bodensee-shore (and on a very calm stretch indeed), 3 minutes from town centre, 5 from the castle. Restaurants, ice cream, boats and shops all within walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to everyone that enjoys friendliness, clean rooms and a good breakfast. Not the highest end of hotels, but 5 stars because of the attention the staff has for its guests, even when the place is fully booked. Perfect location for everything you want to do on this side of the Bodensee!

We stayed in an apartment in this hotel which is situated in a three story block slightly back from the main Hotel. The entrance is a little intimidating in that it reminded me of a 1970's flat but don't be put off. The apartment was large and light and well equipped. The balcony looked over a quiet lawned area and we did have a view of the Bodensee through the trees. We had a double bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen diner and a small hallway, entrance. Everything was really clean and tidy and we had pleanty of space to slouch around in. The bathroom was, again, large and had the architypal brown bathroom suite of the 70's. Everything worked fine and we enjoyed our stay. We had breakfast in the main hotel for a price of euro 9.5 each, This was good value, fresh crusty bread, meats and cheeses, fruit and fruit juices and cereals. All washed down with bottomless tea or coffee. Overall a good Hotel, near to the facilities of Langenargen, which is a quiet, family oriented, little town.
