It is true one need to understand and appreciate the effort and privilege to stay in such an old monument. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The service was extremely friendly. The hotel's cellar is one to visit even if it is to see wonderful wines that are too expensive to drink. The cellar has 15000 bottles of wine. There restaurant... More

Very friendly staff, with lovely grounds. I know it's an odd thing to review, but we really liked the doors - they felt very castle-y. We attended the wine tasting in the cellar, which was free to hotel guests. We enjoyed talking with the owner and sommelier while getting a tour of the cellar and kitchen area. (And enjoyed the... I completely agreed with one comentary on the cold reception while staying with Groupon voucher. An old lady at the reception was extremely cold, like we came to your own house and ask to sleep and eat ! Sorry, with or without a Groupon voucher , we are still clients! Not good wine taste, 15 euros per person is not... More

We stayed here for just one night and, on the whole, had a good experience. The Chateau is a large property with lodgings in different buildings. All are attractive and stately. Perhaps we should have been concerned when our room type was called a 'Charming Double'. Isn't charming a real estate term for small and in need of renovation? As... More

I am amazed at the negative review below......? We stayed here for a week at the end of May with Travel Editions with a group of 23 others. Our large, light and sunny room was also across the garden, (we imagine they get block bookings at a good rate?) but it was spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and decorated and had... More

We arrived at the chateau, and were greeted by a female receptionist, who was all welcoming and smiling... until the point where I handed her a Groupon voucher. The smile fell off her face so fast I feared it would hit the desk. She took the voucher from me as though it were printed on used toilet roll, muttered to... More

Stayed for sadly just one night en-route to Italy. Fantastic experience - friendly fast check in, offer to visit their own wine cellar and tasting (very good, and bought some wine there): very nice bedroom, with a four poster bed, and good food. Most beautiful grounds, gardens, and great views of the mountains. Highly recommended.

I stayed at the Château for one night in June, 2013 for my friends' wedding and loved it! I stayed in room #1, which was very clean and spacious. The only issue I had was that the water in the drains of the bathroom sink and bathtub were a little clogged. The hotel is located in a beautiful area with... More

As always when one has limited expectations the outcome can be very positive. Our stay at the Chateau des Comtes was a last minute decision because of good weather forecast for weekend. We stayed in a very pleasant suite (in reality a larger room with additional chairs), nice 4 poster bed, comfortable mattress and lots of pillows (mandatory for me).... More
