I spent three nights for business. The place was clean and quiet. The service was efficient and the restaurant really nice. I would like to see the parc on summer and enjoy the pool, may be next time.

Visited this hotel for a Christmas break with Travel Editions.Warmly greeted by the owner who was passionate about his hotel and more especially about his wine cellar. Our room was in one of the two annexes of the hotel. The weather was dry during our stay so not a problem but maybe wise to ask for a room in the main building.... I spent 6 days in Chateau des Comtes de Challes in May 2015. The hotel is more like a mention from the 19th century, with a courtyard and wonderful view of the area. It is a safe hotel with wonderful restaurant.

This was not my first visit to this hotel. On previous occasions I have been satisfied with good accommodation but this time I was allocated s room in an external block that I had not experienced previously. Room 47 has basic furnishings. The bed has no headboard and the curtains are useless. The heating was running full on and the... More

I came here with a group of cyclists on tour and not really knowing what to expect. The building is delightful, the staff so helpful (especially when trying to help source replacement parts for my bike!) and the food is excellent. One piece of advice is go and see the wine cellar - Robert Parker would have a field day

Travelled as part of a group booking. Unfortunately I was given a tiny room in the building off to the side of the main hotel building. Historic building with scenic grounds. Friendly reception staff. Just get the feeling this hotel is slightly 'faded grandeur'. Having said that it is excellent value for money. PROS: - Pretty main building with good... More

Me and my partner were travelling around Europe by motorbike and stayed in this château which was a lovely treat and by far the nicest place that we stayed. The owner Florian was very hands on with every aspect of the hotel and this was evident in the way his staff all went to great effort to make sure we... More

Nice old building set in pleasant grounds. Reception was helpful but the (upgraded) room was not that big and the bathroom was dated. The hot water pressure is unbelievably good!! We stayed half board and had a pleasant meal on the terrace although there is also a fine dining room. Breakfast is self service (not in a bad way) in... More

We booked Chateau des Comtes de Challes for one night as a stop off on the drive home from our summer holiday. On arrival it surpassed our expectations of beauty and peacefulness and quality for the modest pric. We chose to eat in the restaurant and had an exceptional meal. The menu was very grown up for our 8 year... More

I had been to an event here and once for dinner and when it came time to book a place for our anniversary I thought it would be nice to stay overnight. We had a lovely room, were greeted nicely upon arrival and enjoyed the pool and views on a hot July day. Afterwards we attended the Vin Cave for... More
