We booked Chateau des Comtes de Challes for one night as a stop off on the drive home from our summer holiday. On arrival it surpassed our expectations of beauty and peacefulness and quality for the modest pric. We chose to eat in the restaurant and had an exceptional meal. The menu was very grown up for our 8 year... More

I had been to an event here and once for dinner and when it came time to book a place for our anniversary I thought it would be nice to stay overnight. We had a lovely room, were greeted nicely upon arrival and enjoyed the pool and views on a hot July day. Afterwards we attended the Vin Cave for... More

twowheeltours stayed at this truly magnificent Chateau/Hotel June during our private cycling tour through the French Alps. Florian the owner met us and lead our wine tasting down in their cellar. He was full of stories and you could see his passion for not only the wine but the hotel, which he likes to refer to as a guest house.... More

i judge a hotel with how well they handle a problem. we had 2 rooms, both very expensive for a small room with no airconditor - they explained not all rooms have air. Our shower head was cracked and did not function. They said all other rooms were booked - But I later found that not to be true from... More

This hotel is very nice indeed. We were met on arrival with the invitation to visit the wine cellar for a complementary wine tasting...well it would have been rude to say no! It was impressive with 17000 bottles of wine including Petrus ( on the wine list at 3700 euros!). Didn't get offered that at the tasting! The Hotel and... More

We have been here a few times before, and this year stayed in the hotel both on our way to the Alps and on the way back, about a week later. Our two stays were surprisingly different. On the way out we checked in just before 6pm and were told of their new wine cellar tours including a tasting, which... More

It was a month ago we decided to spend a night there, a double room cost 160 euro which is not cheap for a 3 stars, however we came for work so that's why we went for a short weekend, the location is lost, you probably don't have anything to do in the whole area, and having a car is... More

We returned to stay at this hotel after a break of 3 years, having stayed there almost annually since 1992…..and it is even better. We use this hotel en route to the alps for our ski trip and it caters for such travellers very well. The rooms are comfortable, though can be a little hot and the restaurant caters very... More

It is true one need to understand and appreciate the effort and privilege to stay in such an old monument. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The service was extremely friendly. The hotel's cellar is one to visit even if it is to see wonderful wines that are too expensive to drink. The cellar has 15000 bottles of wine. There restaurant... More

Very friendly staff, with lovely grounds. I know it's an odd thing to review, but we really liked the doors - they felt very castle-y. We attended the wine tasting in the cellar, which was free to hotel guests. We enjoyed talking with the owner and sommelier while getting a tour of the cellar and kitchen area. (And enjoyed the...
