Perched high above the river on quiet serene tree laden hilltop within a huge chateau tested in time, having a staff desirous of your comfortable enjoyable stay, this is a place to remember. Among the most romantic spots of our month long journey across Europe, it is one of those places we would wish to return. When we drove up... More

I cannot wait to go back to Le Prieure and seat at their table near the window. Once you are there, you just want to stop the time. Plus, the food and the service are excellent. This area is so rich with the architecture through the ages starting at Cunault Abbey nearby founded in 847 to the Renaissance Chateaux of... More

We were travelling on business to our winery in Saumur and we stayed here for a day. Its a old fashioned hotel and they have retained the old French charm. We were accommodated in the new wing, which was decent enough. Would have appreciated the old wing in the typical French architecture. The view from the terrace outside the restaurant... More

We got a great flash deal including breakfast, dinner and a cottage room via Les grandes etapes de France website. The. The service was exactly as you expect from a well run classic french hotel / restaurant. We dinned in the main restaurant and took a menu. The restaurant is really Good. If you plan to stay there, be sure... More

This place has had it's day but is now a nightmare. The 'Park' accommodation is what I imagine Butlins camp huts to be like, they were damp, un aired with greasy head boards, they were clean to be fair. We stayed on the 5th August and the place was virtually empty, we were the only idiots not to know it... More

I've travelled in France for many years and have a pretty good sense about hotels. This one could have been marginal, given the other reviews; thankfully I took a chance. The view is great (and relaxing after a long drive), the room is comfortable, and the dinner exceptional (I say after a week in Paris and beyond). But the best... More

We stayed for three nights at this hotel. It has great views from the dining room and terraces over the Loire. There are lots of steps,so unsuitable if you cant't manage steps. Our room had nasty damp stains on the toilet wall and also on the ceiling above the bed. Dinner was expensive at €47 for three courses. There are... More

My husband and I were traveling with two other couples, stopping for several nights in the Loire Valley enroute to Paris. We were all absolutely delighted when we arrived at Le Prieure. It looked like a fairytale small castle surrounded by beautiful scenery and views of the river. The rooms we had in the main chateau were wonderful. We really... More

I'll start with a small negative, then on to many, many positives. Our room was in the main chateau building and it was out of a fairytale, soaring ceilings, giant stone fireplace...however the bathroom while clean, really needed a reno. Beds are small but comfortable. Some of the many positives: Impeccable, traditionally French service throughout the establishment; knowledgeable sommellier; amazing... More

Franch version of motel in old casttle. Nice service, good food. View is great. All equip is a little old. Nice place for family kids with.Breakfast is good. For dinner you need to find place outdoors, because of small choise of food here.
