The hotel is really a resort with golf, tennis, and pool, none of which I was able to enjoy (unfortunately) because our stay was for only one night. The grounds were lovely and tranquil, beautiful flowers, the location good between the Canadian/British and American D-Day beaches. The food was good, especially the breakfast which was much more varied (pancakes!) than... more

Mercure Bayeux Omaha Beach Stayed at The Mercure Omaha Beach with my wife and father for three nights. Although our room was very good with a balcony over looking the pool area the room my father was given was a bit dull and dingy. As can be seen from other reviews for this hotel the luck of which room you... more

If you expect good or even average service do not book here. Room service not avaibale even though it was advertised, so if you want to eat between 10pm and 6am you are limited to a 4euro chocolate bar from your mini bar. I found this out after reading the in room information card which clearly stated room service available... more

We stayed here for 5 nights, I can barely remember what the room looks like it was so much like any other hotel we've stayed in over the years. However I do remember the cold pool and the lovely breakfasts! And it was unfortunately situated on a golf course and not near anything else. There is a restaurant on site,... more

While its not that close to Omaha Beach, as long as you have a car, it is close to Port-en-Bessin which was a lovely harbour-front town (although curiously like a mini-Whitby without the goths!) with lots of restaurants along the quay. Although nothing special, the room was fine and the bathroom good (in that reliable Mercure-ish way) and it had... more

On arrival we were shown to our room which did not resemble anything on the website ,it was in the appt block wing which gave us the impression that is only used when the hotel is fully booked,It had a little terrace with a grassed area which we intially thought was great for our young daughter to play on,however on... more

It was my mistake in believing that the hotel had some connection with the Normandy beaches. Despite its name, the Mercure Omaha Beach hotel is not on Omaha Beach. If you are a golfer, this is your hotel. If you are interested in the Normandy beaches, find a hotel in Bayeux as your base. You can see the Cathedral and... more

One night stay. Did not golf. Location is about 10 mins from Bayeau and Omaha beach. The grounds are stunning. The rooms are super clean, bath super clean. Rooms have balcony, views over the pool. We chose not to eat here but in the small town center. Most shops etc. are closed, but there were a small selection of eats... more

What this hotel lacks in elegance is overshadowed by the fact it is in the absolute best location to tour all of the normandy beach/WW II attractions. The hotel has two sections, one older, one newer. Try to stay in the newer section. The staff are multilingual and very helpful. Breakfast is very good also. If you enjoy a good... more

My mother and I stayed at this hotel for one night (7/24/07) as a part of a two-week long guided tour of France. This was probably our favorite hotel during the trip. The hotel is located on a golf course, relatively near to the sea, and therefore it has just the loveliest setting. Lots of flowers, green grass, view of... more
