We spent one night here prior to touring Normandy. It was a lovely setting with relaxed and comfortable, yet very upscale, rooms and public spaces. All furnishings are high end and lovely. the service was wonderful, especially in the restaurant which is fantastic. Definitely dine here if you can. It's actually very well priced for such an upscale and well... More

What a lovely way to begin our nine-day vacation that included touring Normandy and Paris and attending the French Open (tennis). From the moment we arrived at La Cheneviere, a feeling of relaxation washed over us. It's quiet and serene with beautiful grounds and fabulous service. A small boutique hotel with only 29 rooms, it feels very private and exclusive.... More

The location of the hotel is very convenient for exploring nearby D-day locations in Normandy. It is a five minute drive from Port en Bessin, which has numerous good restaurants. The hotel restaurant is simply outstanding, but we wanted some variety in our meals. The staff is very accommodating, and responded very well to our questions. The grounds are very... More

After spending two days in Paris we left for le Cheneviere to spend 5 days exploring Normandy. Oh my, what a world apart. This place was magnificent. We can’t enough about the staff and the accommodations. Everything was excellent from the moment we were greeted at the door to the day we left. Never did we stay at a place... More

The staff makes you feel like family. They were very accommodating to our poor French. The setting was perfect for celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary! Everyone was so friendly and helpful that cannot single one person out going beyond our expectations as the entire staff were great! Would absolutely recommend La Chateau Cheneviere to anyone who'd listen. Five stars is... More

We stayed here 2 nights in a 2nd floor deluxe room that had a wonderful King bed, a thoroughly modern bathroom with shower, wifi access, and a nice view of the grounds. Every aspect of our stay--from initial communication and booking to arrival, meals, trip advice, and billing was all handled in a friendly and professional manner. The Chateau and... More

We stayed only one night and the experience was extraordinary. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The gardens were remarkably well tended and very attractive for a stroll. The cuisine features the best locally sourced seasonal ingredients.

Avery old Chateau renovated to modern standards on beautiful grounds. Has both a pool and tennis court and is near all Normandy sites. The restaurant is outstanding. They grow there own herb and the breakfast is wonderful.

I have several very special places in the English countryside that are truly worth what they charge (and more). Beautifully restored estates with period art and furnishings while offering rooms with the latest amenities and a superb chef. This is among their peers. The restored chateaux is the place to stay in Normandy. I recommend the larger rooms offered away... More
