The setting of this "chateau" can't be beat. It is set far back from the main road surrounded by tall trees and lush gardens. The atmosphere is peaceful, relaxing and quiet. Our room was modern and very large by European standards. The bathroom was huge, new and clean, and equipped with a multiple shower-head shower and jacuzzi tub. Very comfortable... more

What a treat to stay at the lovely Chateau la Cheneviere, about 8K outside the charming and still unspoiled small city of Bayeux, a 12 room delightfully unstuffy manor house with a lovely heated pool, the decoration and dining are elegant and so French. There are additional rooms in the old stables. Friendly staff, if a little inexperienced, this is... more

Our travel agent booked this Chateau for us and finally got it right!!! Our other hotels were good but this was excellent. The customer service was excellent, they upgraded our room (the only upgrade of our "4*" trip-too many promises), and had wonderful grounds. The front dest staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The chateau has a main building and... more

We stayed here for a couple of nights during a drive around Normandy to treat ourselves, and weren't disappointed. The chateau is beautiful, as are the grounds and the heated pool. It's very calm and quiet - no traffic noice whatsever. Our room was modern-style with beige decor, and felt bright, spacious, and very comfortable. We didn't eat in the... more

Very nice room. Good food in Michelin starred restaurant. Restayrant a bit too hectic with frenetic service for this hyped a restaurant. Eccept for the location an average nice hotel in a beautiful setting. more

We were blessed with warm autumn sunshine on arrival at The Chateau. We had two rooms booked, one was in the main building and the other in the courtyard annexe. Both were furnished to a high quality, warm and spacious. Sparklingly clean. La Cheneviere stands in peaceful, park like setting with abundance of well established trees which are all documented... more

We stayed in Suite # 527, a fairly new two room affair on the second floor of a building adjoining the main house. It was a perfectly fine set of rooms, with very efficient heat and a/c, quality plumbing (both a jacuzzi tub and a large walk in shower), two TV's, both a DVD and CD player. and wi-fi. The... more

Hard to know but I think this is one of the nicer places in the area (I would also check Chateau de Sully). Therefore I paid a 5-star price for a 4-star hotel room. Room was new probably in 1997-2000 or so, and was showing signs of age. Mattress was also exceptionally hard, in fact so hard that it did... more

Unfortunately being Christmas we were unable to stay at Chateau La Cheneviere but spent time soaking up the friendly ambience of the establishment. We were very impressed with the courteous smilling staff all only too willing to help, the elegant surroundings and homely atmosphere. Language was not a problem as at least three languages are spoken fluently on the reception... more
