We found this wonderful place online. It is probably best described as a boutique B&B, but actually is much more than that. The welcome, ambiance, rooms and situation were pretty near perfect. Not fancy in any way, but very comfortable. Jean-Vincent is an excellent chef and the conversations around the breakfast and dinner table were interesting and wide ranging. Great... More

This is a real gem of a place - we have been there three times now - Vincent and Sophie are warm and welcoming, the 1930's house has a very contemporary designer feel, is very light and extremely comfortably furnished. the food is fantastic - Vincent takes his cooking and ingredients very seriously, and sources his products locally. This charming bed & breakfast was one of the best places we stayed during a three week visit to France. The hosts are friendly and attentive, the rooms are stylish and comfortable, and the breakfast wonderful - not to mention the unexpected surprise of a fantastic dinner. Thanks Sophie & Jean-Vincent for making our stay in Port-en-Bessin a fabulous one... More

This place was wonderful!! The husband and wife are delightful and cooked us a wonderful dinner our first night there, and the breakfasts are also amazing. The rooms were very clean and well equipped with towels and comfortable beds. They also have wifi, and the owners even assisted us in finding lodging in Paris, our next destination.

If you're looking for a family owned chambres d'hotes to cater for your travelling needs while in Normandy, this is it. We've been their guests for the second time, and both the service and the location are excellent. It's not only 5 minutes to Bayeux, with it's lovely Saturday morning market and its world famous tapestry, but also right in... More

The house was beautiful, the room very nice, the bathroom very stylish, but the best of the stay were the wonderful landlady and landlord, Jean-Vincent and Sophie. The two we have been there, they made feel us like home. In the first evening they offered us a dinner. Every morning Jean-Vincent made fantastic breakfast for the guests. For a small... More

We stayed at La Maison des Bigorneaux for two nights at the end of a two week holiday. We decided on Port-en-Bessin-Huppain as it was reasonably close to the Ferry Port at Ouistreham (an hour by car) and had a port to entertain our little ones (nearly three years and 10 months). We stayed in the Charles Louis Room which... More
