We stayed one night at this hotel, after arriving late in France off the continental ferry. The hotel is literally one minute from the ferry port, making it an ideal place to stay before an early crossing or after a late one (particularly if you are not used to driving on the right hand side of the road - the... Our three day trip to the D-Day Landing beaches was based at the hotel, and was booked in the UK with Thomas Cook, using Brittany Ferries. We had one double and one twin, with connecting door: the adults in the double, and the sixteen year old 'tour guide' and his good friend in the twin. All four persons commented on... More

Hotel La Mare O Poissons is a good place for visiting the Sword, Juno and Gold beaches, Le Grand Bunker, Pegasus Bridge & museum, the Merville battery. And so on. Location quiet, not in the centre of Ouistreham. Free parking excellent. Reception and breakfast-staff speaks fluent English and is very kind, in a way that makes you start your day... More

Not a bad value for 100Euros in this part of Normany. Very clean new hotel - only one year old and well maintained. the English fluent young woman at the froint desk was very helpful with directions. A bit out of town if you want the action, but fine for us quiet older folks.

I stayed here with my partner in April as we were spending a week in Normandy. The hotel is on the edge of Ouistreham on the main Ouistreham to Caen road, and is in an ideal location for visiting the D-Day beaches if you go west, the Normandy coast to Honfleur if you go east and Caen and Falaise if... This was the second time we had stayed overnight before catching the ferry to the UK. The hotel is newly constructed in a quiet location a little outside Ouistreham but still only 5 minutes from the ferry. Very clean, well kitted out but moderately sized room. restaurant provides excellent steaks but the menu is a little quirky and difficult to... More

I stayed at this hotel which is near the Sword Beach invasion site and near where the British airborne division dropped during the Normandy invasion. It is a nice hotel. The room we stayed in was a bit small but the bed was comfortable. The restaurant however was very nice! The food was great! I've heard that some French people... More

Contemporary hotel, well maintained, comfortable room with all you need for a good night's sleep. Seafood restaurant was good but a little pretentious. Located 5 minutes from the cross chanel ferry terminal, it has free parking on sight. The staff were extremely helpful, particularly when we had checked out early but found our ferry had been cancelled, and so returned... More

Wanted something close to the ferry for an early sailing. This is probably the best in town - just on the outskirts, easy access from the main road and plenty of private parking. Recently refurbished, it's at first sight very pretty. The reality, though, is that the hotel is built to the Travelodge/ETAP/Accor chain design and essentially a prefab building.... More
