Stayed at La Normandie for one night before catching early morning ferry to Portsmouth. I would not recommend the hotel, and am struggling to come up with any positives aside from the close proximity to the ferry terminal. We stayed in the annexe across the road from the main hotel. There seems to be absolutely no soundproofing at all between... More

Arrival was worrying, got there at 22:00 after the Brittany Ferry arrived, and became aware that our booking was missing from their computer. Made the effort to speak French but when we struggled a bit, the gent on the desk did appear to understand English but didn't seem to want to speak it! We established that we were having one... More

We stayed at the beginning and end of a holiday to tie in with the ferry, recommended to us by my partner's parents. Very close to the ferry and lots of restaurants, easy to find and plenty of parking, we did miss the one-way but it's simple to turn right and right again to get onto the road. Nicely greeted... Good location. Good cleanliness. But even though we only needed an overnight, we will not return in future as hotel does not compare in value for money and comfort terms with our usual stopover in ouistreham. Standard of room, bathroom and breakfast (not included here, making our total 93e far too much for a 2*) way below the much cheaper... More

Really apart from that there is nothing to recommend the hotel unless you can get a space in the car park. Room very small and towels of the poor rest quality. Not an easy place to find as off of a confusing one way system. Suggest if you book you get a good detailed map of the area as if... More

Stayed here with friends after the afternoon crossing from Portsmouth, hotel is very close to the ferry port, just what we wanted. We had eaten during the crossing so didn't use the restaurant, it was full of locals, always a good sign of quality and price. Our rooms were small but very clean, would recommend the hotel for late arrivals... More

As in a review I read the best thing about this hotel was its proximity to the ferry. It's surrounding area lacks atmosphere and is in the wrong end of town. Although clean the rooms were basic, breakfast was sparse with little choice or variety and it cost 10 Euro. Reception staff in particular the lady were unhelpful, unwelcoming and... More

Had a stopover here prior to catching 0830 ferry back to UK. Though the hotel is a little dated it was clean and tidy and our room had a bath. There is car parking on site and its just 400m from ferry terminal. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent - we were expecting it to be expensive due to... More

Situated in the centre of Ouistreham, this hotel is well located for access to the port (so good for overnight or early morning ferry crossings) and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Though the public areas are well maintained, the bedrooms are small, cramped and very tired looking. They are in urgent need of updating. The dining room lacks atmosphere,... More

This was our third stopover, once when the overnight crossing to England was too rough for my wife, once when the ferry from England was too late to reach our destination, and thirdly when the morning crossing to England was too rough. The first time we had no reservation, the second time the ferry was delayed for an hour and... More
