We used Puylaurens as a stopping point for the night on our drive south. We were looking for a charming small hotel where we could have dinner on-site. This inn fit the bill perfectly. Of all the hotels we stayed in during a three week trip, we received our warmest welcome here. Arriving at the small square fronting the inn... More

Once again we had a great stay at Cap de Castel. We had a different room this time with amazing views over the mountains but it was large and very comfortable. David was a fabulous host and very congenial and helpful. We ate in the restaurant both nights but unfortunately inside due to the weather. The food, service and wine... More

We were taken with the welcome, the room(we upgraded to the one with a bath and a shower), the staff, the view, the pool area, the decor and most importantly the food. Excellent shy chef, Xavier, and really good host, David. We also enjoyed the area and took loads of pretty drives. Best breakfast so far on our holiday.

This is our fourth visit over a number of years, to this absolutely delightful hotel. Situated in the unprepossessing town of Puylaurens, Cap de Castel is it's saving grace. Building wise the hotel is hugely attractive, with it's provencale style. The rooms are lovely, spacious and beautifully decorated. Our room Neuf, had been newly decorated and we liked the more... It's very rare that you return to a hotel and find that it's just as good, if not better, than the time before. Well Cap de Castel is definitely one of those places. If you've never been, then I suggest you get booking; if you've been before then it's probably time to book again. Excellent boutique hotel and a fabulous... More

Dear David, Thank you so much for this very kind review. Given your hotelier background we value so much your feedback and complicity especially when facing bizarre situations. But your loyalty over the years is even more valuable to each of us. This Sunday, with my Dad's help we just finished assembling the new outdoor furniture... and rescued the pool... More

It has been well over a year since my last stay and David gave the usual warm welcome Sme of the rooms have been updated and mine was a black and white film themed room. Large room, old features retained and great views across to the Black Mountains The restaurant is great and the standard of food is fabulous. Breakfast... More

A beautifully restored old building that had, I think, formed part of the castle walls, we were told parts dated back to the 17th century. The bedroom was ample, the bed comfortable, the welcome warm and friendly. The restaurant is excellent and the owner/maitre d' is very helpful (he also speaks good English, certainly better than my French!). If passing... More

Stayed for just a night, we found the room spacious, clean, well present and well equiped. The staff were friendly and helpful both in the hotel and restaurant. The food was tasty and well presented. I found Puylaurens to be a tad boring and souless although that could have been due to the time of year. Highly Recommended

We had no idea how exhausted we were when my husband and I checked in to Cap de Castel. By the time we had spent 5 days being well taken care of, we were totally relaxed, refreshed and probably heavier by at least 5 pounds each. Our room was extremely comfortable, the shower was something we would like to copy... More

Hotel was great. We had a very nice room on the ground floor with a wonderful view of the valley. The grounds are very nice, unfortunately, we arrived to late in the day to make use of the pool. the dinner we had at the restaurant was excellent. It was a little pricey compared to the hotel cost, but well... More
