I stayed at the Cap de Castel in Puylaurens while travelling to france for work in Castres, which is about 20 minutes drive away. The hotel is lovely. Each room is individually decorated. I stayed in room 11 (a standard room) and it was great - nice big, comfortable bed, bath with shower over (although hand-held only), television with BBC... more

We were totally blown away by the location, the view and the surroundings. But what makes Cap de Castel really special are the people. David, Lise, Primrose and Arnaud made us feel so at home, that even after only 4 days, we found it hard to leave. We'll certainly be back! Oh, and the food is great! more

... a place to retreat, rest ... far way from the mundane things of this world . Frankly my dear(s) , we would like to keep this place a secret , our "havre de paix" in South West France, but this would be greatly unfair towards David and his team. Cap de Castel is a small (10 rooms) boutique hotel... more

This charming hotel was recommended to us by a friend who had worked nearby and we were in no way disappointed. We stayed for three nights in May to celebrate my birthday. Our room (neuf) was large and as described by other reviewers had a fantastic view - on a clear day to the Pyrenees. David is an enthusiastic and welcoming host... more

We stayed at Cap de Castel for one night while travelling. What a find! We wish we could have stayed longer. We were welcomed wonderfully by David and our two children were made to feel very at home, which put us at ease. We even managed to eat at the hotel's restaurant, the chef ensured there was suitable food for... more

We stayed here for three nights while attending a wedding near by. It is a lovely boutique hotel, nicely decorated rooms and a pool area overlooking the countyside. We had a great dinner in the hotel one evening, the staff are helpful and accomodating. The only drawback is that noise can be heard from the main road, especially in the... more

Well I discovered this place by chance on a visit to France last week. I had not checked out TA before travelling for once! The hotel is fantastic. Very large bedroom with high ceilings and big windows. Very clean and the bathroom and separate shower were up to date and good. Good quality bath salts, shampoo etc. The large double... more

What a fantastic place. My only hesitation in recommending it, is that I wouldn't want it to get too full of us Brits!!! We stayed four nights in a lovely room overlooking the Lauraugais countryside and the mountains in the distance. The view was perfect. Room too was excellent - spacious with a large bed, flat sceen telly, DVD player... more

We stayed for 4 nites with David and Pascal in May '07. David is the hands-on, always available for questions and help owner/manager. Charming, fluent in english and spanish too. Our room was extra large overlooking the french countryside of puylaurens. Comfortable king sized bed, extra large renovated bathroom with separate shower and bathtub, cable tv along with a country... more

Cap de Castel is a 'hotel de charme' with a restaurant within the old castle in Puylaurens, known as the Balcony of the Pyrenees. It was taken over in June 06 by new, young owners who have refurbished it. Dinner - €30 for 4 courses - is served to a maximum of 20 guests so you get excellent service in... more
