This chambre d'hôtes is set among the vineyards and offers a good base for the village of Sauternes as well as château visits and wine tastings. We were here for four nights staying in the Medoc room. This is located slightly apart from the main house up a flight of stairs above an old wine cellar. The room was spacious,... More

Worth leaving the motorway en route to Bordeaux to break your journey here - or if you have the chance stay even longer. Great location just minutes from the lovely town of Sauternes. We were travelling north on our return journey so were limited to one night when we could have happily lingered in this area. Anick and Jean-Claude were... More

In the heart of Premier Cru Sauternes Chateaux, this is a sweet and traditional home run by a really welcoming family. We arrived on our bikes to stay one night looking hot and bothered and suddenly we find ourselves in a cool home with a bottle of wine and a lovely pool. We had a picnic in the garden and... More

We stayed 3 nights in Sep 2012 & could not have been happier. Rather than a B&B, it’s like staying with a couple of friends. For us, it’s not just the comfort & location (which are both fantastic), it’s the people & Annick & Jean-Claude are genuinely lovely hosts. They know the Sauternes area backwards & could not have been... More

We stayed for 4 nights in the Sauternes Room and we loved every minute of it. We rented a car in Bordeaux and it took about 45 minutes to get to Maison Rouge. The surrounding country side was absolutely breathtaking. From our room, we had our own exit to the backyard, which had an outdoor pool, a hammock, and a... More

Annick was a wonderful host who made us feel very welcome. The bedrooms, lounge and dining room were beautifully furnished. The pool was great to swim in, surrounded by vineyards. We were able to use the bicycles to visit Sauternes, wineries and the great little towns of the area.

This stay was our first at one of France's many chambres d'hôtes - and what a pleasant experience. We had the largest of Annick and Jean Claudes three wonderful rooms - the Medoc room, which features a stunning view of at least three of Sauternes' famous chateaus. The breakfast room, lounge, garden and pool area are beautiful and well kept.... More

What a gem, we have just spent four wonderful days here and it lived up to all our expectations! Annick and Jean Claude made us very welcome and couldn't do enough for us to make our stay memorable! Our bedroom was very large and tastefully decorated. The complimentary bottle of Bordeaux was a nice touch. Lots to do see and... More

Almost too good to share with you all. The very nice owner whose english is much better than she is willing to admit makes you feel so welcome and at home. Breakfast, garden, pool, use of bikes without charge, all is great. A place to come back to! Also check out the wines you can buy here. There is a... More

You must expect a simple but traditional wine-related farm in the countryside. With that in mind, we spent a few wonderful days at a walking distance of several winemaker farms and even of the Sauternes city. Close enough to the Roquetaillade Castle, the Bordeaux´s Medoc and Saint Emilion areas and Arcachon Bay as to pay one-day visits to any of... More
