Good hotel in a nice quiet location. Short walk down the hill into town. If you are too tired to walk back you can get a local taxi for a cheap fare. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean. The local tour companies will pick you up at the hotel for any tours.

Historias Lodge is a great hotel. Rooms were good and the staff were awesome It's located around plenty of places to eat, ATMs are close by and it's a easy walk downhill in to town. Coming back it's a bit of a hike... but you can catch a taxi back.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel last November, its well located near several attractions and restaurants. The room sizes vary, we had a great sized room which was very comfortable and enjoyed three nights of good sleep. The family that run this hotel are lovely people and go out of their way to try and keep everyone happy. Its... More

We had a very nice stay at the Historias Lodge. We are a family of five, and it was a great value to find a roomy, affordable place to all stay together. It's harder than you might think. If you're looking for a good value for a quality, clean, quiet room in Santa Elena / Monteverde, this is a great... More

Absolutely loved our stay here. Had nowhere booked and relatively low expectations given our budget, but the staff were extremely friendly and unbelievably helpful, especially Alba who booked all our travel and zip-lining for us (as well as booking a hotel for us in the next place we were staying) and looked after our bags for the day when we... This is a lovely place to stay. The staff are very welcoming and the breakfasts were good, you help yourself to bread, coffee etc but eggs are cooked to order. I had the best fried eggs in 16 days here! I loved my room which was on the first floor. It was spacious and comfortable and there was a bench... More

A friendly hotel a little way away from the centre with a short walk means it is away from the hustle and bustle. Has seen better times and reasonably comfortable. Some areas are in need of redesign to give them proper purpose. My room smelt damp which is a problem for me being asthmatic, maybe all hotels in the area... More

We found this hotel close enough to town to be useful but far enough away to escape the noise. We had a bottom floor room next to the dining room so it could get a bit noisy from people leaving/coming home from tours. The wifi is great and the showers both hot and with great pressure! Downside was the doors... More

While visiting Monte Verde, I stayed at Historias Lodge. The staff was EXCELLENT, could speak and understand English. The rooms were CLEAN, the food was GREAT. I had trouble with my transportation, and they helped me to fix it. It was within walking distance of restaurants, stores, etc. They made me feel at home.

Really nice hotel we all had our own little areas of the lodge with seating areas outside. Close to the local shops and restaurants. Food was great and lovely big accomodation. Really recommend it! Excellent knowledge of local trips to go on can't fault it
