Owner Jose and his brother and staff are the most gracious hosts. You feel right at home. Hotel rooms and grounds are in excellent condition. Dont let the dirt road at the hotel fool you., this is a very nice place to stay. Breakfast was great and the staff can make arrangements for any tour you are interested in.

This hotel is as charming as any I've seen. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can tell that it is owner run as there is a lot of loving attention paid to the maintenance of the property. We wend with our family of 6 for 2 nights. We had 2 rooms next to each other. One was a "family... More

We received a warm and informative welcome when we arrived, complete with coffee and tea. Denise had many recommendations for us and arranged the tours that we were interested in. Jose was a very kind and gracious host who welcomed us at breakfast and offered dining suggestions each day. De Olivo was a very good dinner, I commend Jose for... More

Rustic lounge is very well located close to the down town area of Santa Elena (within walking distance) and also to canopy trails and coffee tours. The staff was terrific about calling to reserve spots for us at places that we mentioned we'd like to go. We had a car, but they always checked to see if they could arrange... More

This hotel turned out to be a good choice. We had looked at several hotels in Monteverde and Santa Elena and we booked this hotel because of the price. On arrival the manager welcomed us with delicious Costa Rican coffee and a map of the area. He gave us lots of information about things we could do and where we... More

We booked our stay at the Rustic Lodge through Annie of the visitor center we passed on the dirt road on the way into town (I think the visitor center was owned by Selvatura). We had a nice stay. Coffee was the die for! Friendly breakfast staff. The reception staff was polite but lacked the friendliness we had grown accustomed... More

Monteverde was a favorite stop of ours in Costa Rica -- and Rustic Lodge was a delightful place to stay there. The staff was friendly and helpful, our room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We ate one night at Sabor Tico, just down the hill, and it was easy to get to and from town. We loved it and... More

I recently stayed for the first time. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. Rooms were clean and breakfast was good. I can not say how great the staff was, especially the guy at the front desk. He helped with everything we could ever need in Costa Rica. Will def return!

Ok, so this was my third time staying at the Monteverde Rustic Lodge since November 2012, that is, for many reasons: 1. it's close to town and very cheap by taxi if you can't make the walk uphill (but I haven't given in to the taxi yet) 2. It's right down the block from Sabor Tico, so if it's raining... More

Ten of our family stayed at the Lodge which was convenient to town, shopping, and restaurants. The rooms were smaller, but clean and new. It was a fantastic value compared to other places we stayed in Costa Rica and included a very nice breakfast each morning. The rooms were small but clean and looked new. The walls were a bit... More
