I agree with what the other reviewers have said. Friendly staff person, Ana. Great views, both down to the bay and across the street to the horse farm. Noisy wind all night long, which might bother some and did reduce going outside to admire the view. Internet: it wasn't working when we got there. We fixed it (the sysadmin was... More

We arrived to Las Orquideas from Arenal and stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is well kept and clean and the water pressure is great here. The breakfast is very good and great start for the early morning hikes or excursions. We arrived by shuttle and compared Las Orquideas to the hotels in the area and we were very... More

We just spent three days at the hotel and thought it was great. In response to an earlier negative review we thought the place was clean, well kept and very friendly. Folks, this is a one star hotel so no you don't have a TV or phone in the room. But the room is larger than you would expect, the... More

This hotel is more like a B & B which was just fine with my son & me. It gave us a chance experience Tico life more. At first we were given a very small room with 1 bed. I was feeling rather claustraphobic & asked to be switched. The owner had no problem giving us a larger room with... More

We stayed at the Hotel Las Orquideas for two nights, based largely on favorable reviews on tripadvisor. It was a mistake. I can only assume that the ratings are based primarily on value, because it was not a comfortable place to be. The room was tiny, and at night, it sounded like the hotel was going to blow over in... We stayed at this hotel for three nights and would recomend it for other people wanting to go to the region of Monteverde. Nidia, the hotel owner was friendly, knowledgeable and went out of her way to make us feel at home. The hotel was not fancy but met all of our criteria. Inexpensive, clean, close to town (less than... More

Great place for the money, beautiful view, friendly stuff Booked this place for one night for my girlfriend and myself with anywherecostarica. We arrived by car from Grecia, found the hotel quickly. It has an off-street parking and a big sign on the main road into town. The accommodations were good for the price we paid, but nothing special. The... More

We chose Las Orquideas based on its popularity on TripAdvisor. This hotel did not disappoint! The hotel is located within walking distance (1.5 km) of the bustling town of Santa Elena. The rooms are spacious, clean, and relaxing. The rear of the hotel includes a walkway that overlooks the beautiful mountainous rain forest. The free breakfast is scrumptuous and the... More

We spent three nights at Hotel Las Orquideas and highly recommend it to other travellers. The hotel has a great location - it's away from the noise and buses in town, but within walking distance to the town and its restaurants. More importantly, the hotel backs onto a beautiful valley stretching all the way to the Pacific ocean, and the... More

Nidia (the owner) lives onsite, and she's friendly and very helpful with tips for tours, local restaurants, etc. She keeps a library of guide and nature books, novels, and other reading materials to relax with. There is a deck behind the hotel with a great view that extends from twin waterfalls on the left to the Pacific Ocean on the... More
