I stayed for two nights with a group. The rooms are spicy with two beds. The toilet provides a lot of space (especially the shower). It was unfortunately very cold and the room was very cold and an additional blanket was not available. The location is very good, you can work to monteverde for lunch or dinner. Also a lot... More

We enjoyed our stay for the most part at this hotel but the rooms could use some updating. It got cold at night but there are no heaters, and the room smelled mustier than usual and we could not escape the smell. We were on the second floor with an open-air balcony view of the mountains which was lovely! But... More

We stayed two nights here, making the drive from La Fortuna. While you can make the trip without an SUV/4WD vehicle, you'll be more comfortable in one - the roads are rough (and they were dry). Many roads in the area are not paved including the one this hotel is on, and the road to the cloud forest reserve. Our... More

Thanks to the amazing staff at Hotel Ciprese, I had a wonderful stay. When I arrived without a plan, I told them what I wanted to do and see and they helped arrange that for me without pushing a particular company over another. When I told the staff that my aim was to see, and photograph a sloth, they took... More

My bff and I were greeted by a power outage after check-in and had to be shown our room by flashlight, but there were no other issues. The staff was helpful; the accommodations were more than adequate, and the breakfast was phenomenal and well attended. It was a great choice, and I am so glad I found it.

Enjoyed the rustic feel of this hotel and the lush greenery around the property. Saw a sloth hanging from a tree one morning before breakfast which was a fun way to start the day. Breakfast was decent. The staff was very friendly but watch out for the small dog...not so much. Our room was fairly large which included two full/double... More

Bad bed and pillow! Cold room! Smoke unfriendly, lots of noise from neighbours! Poor breakfast but really nice staff: helpfull and friendly. Close to town if you have a car. Restaurants close by and if you are lucky you will find a sloth in one of the trees :-)

My wife and I stayed at the hotel (it has more of a B&B feel to it) for only one night but it was a terrific base for our activities. The room was basic but had everything that we needed; you don't go to Monteverde to sit in your hotel room! Our room did have a lovely view of the... More

The staff was really helpful. They helped me book my transportation to Manuel Antonio and gave me good info on the tours available. The hotel was very clean. My only issue was that like many other hotels in Costa Rica, there's not much sound proofing so I could hear people talking in the next room.
