It says restaurant. The ' restaurant is only open for their minimal free breakfast, other wise you have to walk blocks away past a bar full of drunks for food. They have no phone, so unless your cell phone works in Costa Rica, you can't call the hospital for your sick friend. They have a broken TV, that you have... More

We stayed here for 2 days. The room was very clean and we could also enjoy a kind of veranda, nice, like this you've got the feeling of sitting outside, but your not bothered by the wind. It's only 5 minutes walking to the centre of Santa Elena (although the name says it's in Monteverde... ;-) ) The staff at... More

This is a serviceable hotel without much more to recommend it. Website said there were fans in the room but this was not the case. When toilet stopped up we were given plunger to take care of problem ourselves. We booked a nature walk but were overcharged at the hotel as they thought park admission was included but guide said... We stayed here for a couple of nights on our gadventure tour of Costa Rica, it was a great hotel, the room was comfortable and everything worked well, the only slight downside was the room being a bit dark, but it was cool in the heat at least! We had a nice area outside the room to sit out and... More

My family of 5 spent two nights here recently on a spring break trek through Costa Rica. In considering this hotel against the standard of what we saw around Monteverde, it was an acceptable choice. Our family room had two bedrooms with a dividing door, but only one small bathroom. The room was clean throughout. The lighting in the room... More

Stayed two nights. This is a basic hotel. The staff are lovely but I slept very poorly here. It was super cold at night when we were there (blankets provided were insufficient) and despite earplugs, I could hear the neighbours, dogs barking and motorcycles revving in the middle of the night. $8 for 2 kgs of laundry (2015 price) Breakfast... Stayed 2 nights and the staff was very helpful.Clean rooms with a lot of space. Chilly room though so need to sleep with extra clothes.Tasty breakfast. Would stay again. Close to town. Note that they don't take credit cards for breakfast

I have visited Monteverde several times, but was unable to book at the usual place. I liked that this one was close to the town of Santa Elena, which I had never walked through before. The room was clean and spacious, the balcony was nice, the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good. Also, Jeiny gave us good... More

We stayed here two nights to visit the Monteverde Cloud Forest region. It was set in a pretty garden, where we saw a sloth, a short walk from the town centre,. The bedroom was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. It was wet and cold while we were there (January 2015) so it would have been nice if... More

Dated hotel decor wise but very clean and staff are lovely. Breakfast was basic eggs and rice and beans. Wifi was good and even had a sloth in a tree behind the hotel. Don't stay here if you have mobility issues as it up a dirt path and steep hill from town.
